Hi all, my 2020 wrangler rubicon has been stuck at the dealer for almost 4 weeks, needs a new instrument cluster panel, it went blank. I was told it would be 3-5 days on the part so i approved the repair, then when i called to check on status they told me it was backordered and would be 3-4 weeks or more. I was told I should call FCA to expedite, which I did. They still won't give me an eta or tell me anything beyond saying they contacted the parts people and alternating for a response. Last night I found that there is a recall they went out in October for the instrument panel cluster for the screen going blank. I am guessing that is why the part is backordered, but I would really like to know if anyone has any experience with this and how long the part takes to ship? The dealer is not letting me take the vehicle as this cluster includes the odometer, so I have been renting a car for nearly 4 weeks already.
Dealership has my 2018. The date keeps getting pushed back. It is now 6/02/2025. They have had it for 3 months. My VIN wasn’t on the recall. Anyone have the same issue and have a case filed with NHSTA? Did they cover it under the recall?

Consider researching the requirements of your state's lemon laws.

Wondering if you have any updates? My cluster just went out on my 2020 Jeep Wrangler on Tuesday. Took it to the dealership Friday and said my cluster is shot but doesn’t fall under the recall as well. Said the part is on back order so wondering how long they might have my car for 🫠 also refused to give me a loner.

It took Jeep over 3 months to get my instrument cluster in. At the time they told me they were working on two, mine and someone else’s. They kept pushing the date back. Jeep Care kept me informed throughout the whole process.

Following~ I also have had the same issues ( 2018 Sahara) and my dealership so far has not done much except blow smoke. There have been times when mine won't even start. Last time this occurred was a week ago they claimed it was the FOB battery..... then after sitting there for three and a half hours and them supposedly reinstalling software it is of course the cluster.
They went as far as saying they "escalated" the order for the part which was ordered 5/14/25....I think this is probably BS.
My JL is 7 years old but only had 53K miles on it when I bought it four months ago, so outside the lemon law here in CT.
Can anyone point me in the direction of filing something with NHSTA? Suggestions are really appreciated too....I feel like this particular dealership is trying to pull one over on me or get me to a place where they are not responsible for anything. Issue started within the first 45 days I had the vehicle and of course when I drove it in for the appt I was at 60,002.

Lots of places that will fix these clusters and a fairly quick turn around. I have sent mine to UPFIX and they have been awesome to deal with.

I do have an extra Cluster from a gladiator if anyone needs one. Works fine in the JL other than the fact the animation is a JT vs a JL lol.

Sad to say, I have the same thing going on. Dropped at the dealer on July 1. Still no ETA on the part. Just got a call from customer care saying that there is a national backorder and no known ship date.

I don't have any advice to give at this point, just want to put another data point out there for anyone who is dealing with this. Happy to take any recommendations...

Picked up from the dealer today. Amusingly, Customer Care also called me today to let me know the parts were 2-4 days out from delivery. This has been almost comically inept. Almost...

I am having the same problem on my 2019 is the only solution getting a new cluster? Some forums say replace the batteries which I plan to do this weekend but they are still in green during battery test just a little low. The screen went out 12/7/25 came back on 12/9/25 for first ten minutes of drive then went back out. It is still back lit so idk. The recall seems to just be for the 3.5 base display

I had this issue. I sent my cluster to United Radio and they fixed and put a new screen in. Hit them up for a reasonable price as well. Way cheaper than dealer. As far as I understood the recall was for more recent models with the base screen, not the full screen like you and I have.

Mine is doing the same. On - off - on - off. There is obviously a loose connection somewhere. I plan to tear it apart one of these days. The screen can be replaced, there are threads on the forum with links to the screen. A lot cheaper than replacing the whole instrument cluster or sending it out if you are handy.

Hey everyone, I know a lot of us are having issues with our Jeep instrument clusters going blank. There is a safety recall (#30B) for certain Jeep models that covers this instrument panel cluster problem, but it only applies to some VINs — so not everyone’s vehicle is included.

I spoke with Transport Canada and they recommended that anyone experiencing this issue, even if your VIN isn’t covered by the recall should file a safety defect complaint. Transport Canada tracks these reports, and if enough people submit complaints it can influence whether they open a formal investigation or expand the recall. They suggested that both U.S. and Canadian owners report their issues to the appropriate safety agencies.

If the recall is later revised and your VIN becomes included after you’ve already paid for the repair out of pocket, you may be eligible to seek reimbursement, so reporting the issue now is important.

Report links:

🇨🇦 Canada (Transport Canada) – submit a potential safety defect complaint: https://tc.canada.ca/en/road-transp...-safety-defect-vehicles-tires-child-car-seats

🇺🇸 USA (NHTSA) – report a vehicle safety problem: https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem

Before I’d let them have the jeep for a long time I’d just buy a used cluster have the mileage corrected and never give up my vehicle. Only took me about a week to complete. Roughly 15 min to. Install
