Hi, so there is no snapping sound on the jeep in a car wash? I brought my brand new the day I bought it Jl to the car wash and that long metal one snapped and hit the body of the Jeep like 3 times, scared the crap out of me.
No it does not whip and snap around in the car wash. Being so short it's very tight. I love it. It'll be going on my JL as soon as I get mine.

I purchase the below from Amazon and couldn't be happier. No flex even at high speeds, no reception loss. 21 inch is the perfect size, the stubby ones look a little weird to me.

I just put the 14" version of that on my JLU last night and it works well. Our closest radio stations out here are either in Las Cruces or even El Paso (with repeaters). It picks up all but one of 'em well.

Yea, I lived in Ridgecrest, CA close to Death Valley, no reception until I put one of these on.

Hey all, I installed an AntennaX 13" and I am noticing that it will pick up stations, but for those that are "HD" it will consistently buffer and sound a little muted. Any one seeing the same thing or have suggestions on increasing the clarity / reception of the last bit of that signal required for the "HD" stations?

My jku had the small metal bullet looking type. Had crap reception so I tossed it out.

Decided on rugged ridge 13" flexible antenna for the JLUR. So far as I can tell reception is great still with this one

I unscrewed that thing and threw it straight in the garbage after it bent in the first car wash. I listen to 99% SXM and Spotify so I haven't noticed any issues without having it. I would imagine it would only affect AM/FM.

I bought the 21 inch Antenna X at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NUE3VJK. First, there isn't a way to screw it on tight. Unlike the original antenna which required the 10mm wrench to remove it, the new one is just rounded. What keeps it from coming lose over time and flying off while driving on the highway one day? Also, the box it came in says that it must be remove for car washes. If the new one is only 21 inches, why would it require to be remove during car washes and the original one can't be removed with a tool? Makes no sense. Any ideas?

Wondering if any of you have used the Antenna x 24" CB,AM,FM antenna replacement in place of the oem 31" antenna AND are you able to use it for the actual CB as well as the normal radio?
Can it be done?
Is 24" tall enough to actually receive and broadcast anywhere past your own bumper?

Tried to email Antenna x a couple of times with no response..

I have the 24" CB style Am/Fm antenna on my JL.Had one on my last 2 JK's also. Nice antenna and with it there is minimal reception hit Am/Fm wise.

AntennaX's customer support is terrible. Don't expect any reply/answers from them.

CB with that antenna. No it is a CB style/look antenna and no more as far as l know have read.

Rhinebeck01 is correct. A CB Antenna can supply an FM signal, but an FM antenna can't properly provide a CB signal, at least not at 24 Inches. That is, unless you're just wanting to chat with your neighbor across the street. ;) I'm not even sure an FM antenna would send a usable outgoing CB signal, as I've heard it may only receive a weak CB signal.

There's a device called an inverse multiplexor, which accepts a CB antenna cable and splits its signal to feed a CB receptacle and an FM receptacle. I thought about deleting the FM antenna and replacing it with the same red badge as on the driver's side, then adding a large CB antenna on the back that would split and feed my Stereo and CB. I chose the simple route of adding the 24-inch CB,AM,FM antenna from AntennaX and putting the CB install off for a while. For the record, I'm very impressed with the AntennaX quality, look, etc.

Thanks for the responses so far. Appears it is as i expected . I do like the look and think the height is a good compromise between the stock 31 and the short 13" replacement. Kinda wanted red ( liking the look with my BW JL) but thinking I am just going to pull the trigger on the 24" CB "style" Antenna X. CB antenna mount will come later. Really hope the Cool Tech guys decide to sell there JL CB mount and hardware without the antenna and cable. Have several antennas and cables from prior jeeps and don't need any more. Really like there stuff and have used it before on prior models.
