Anyone remove the stock antenna, and base yet? Many of us did it on our JK and replaced the hole with a trail rated base, fit perfectly. Satellite radio still worked perfectly(which is all I listen to) but FM/AM was pretty much non working. (Who cares). Wondering if this is still the case with JL. Here’s a pic

So you would just lose AM/FM radio doing that correct? I was thinking of having to do a stubby one because I hate the wire antennae, hopefully finding one that actually works unlike the stubby on my JK but with satelite, bluetooth and carplay i don’t forsee myself wanting AM/FM so this might be a better more clean looking option.

The AM/FM reception takes a hit when you install much shorter antenna's, that is a given. Even the real popular, 24-inch AntennaX after market offering that is known to be very good, takes a hit reception wise.

As far as Sirius/XM satellite radio, that is not impacted at all when you remove or change the AM FM "antenna".

The "satellite radio receiver" is what is used for SiriusXM reception.

On the Wrangler JK and JL, the "satellite radio receiver" for use with SiriusXM resides up on top of the sound bar/roll bar, just above and behind the passenger.

I'm thinking of doing this. How easy is it to remove?
Antenna mast itself can be removed in a minute. Then you need to remove the base which is easily done but a tad trickey. Once you pop base, the rest comes off easy. Watch this video, it is the same process for the JL. Once you get base off, then it is two small bolts to remove...

Have you guys noticed any less wind noise with no antenna? The wind is significantly louder in the passenger side, and my guess was that it was due to the turbulence caused by the antenna.
