Hi All, My son just bought a new JL Wrangler 2-door Rubicon, which came with the trail-ready pack inc steel bumper.
I need some help putting in a CB radio, the guys at ARB aren't sure where to mount the antenna on the front bumper.

Cool Tech makes brackets for the cowl or the tailgate if you're not dead set on the bumper mount.

I mounted my GMRS to the tailgate so that it's out of the way, and it works great.

Anywhere on the front bumper that offers a good ground connection and does not interfere with the operation of the winch, if present, works fine. Also depends on which front bumper you have - steel, good just about anywhere with top and bottom clearance, for proper installation and service. Plastic factory “bumper”, not so much. The Aussies prefer front bumper mounting for outback use - ARB should be very familiar with such installations. I use front right end, as it isn’t as annoying as directly in front of driver’s forward view (left hand drive here). Pattern is mostly diagonal across the Jeep, to the rear. Your mileage may vary…

The front bumper could work since he has a steel bumper. You might want to avoid the tailgate mount unless you can keep from sandwiching it between the tailgate and the spare tire. Amazon has several of these mounts that go near the hood. Works well for me especially when used with this type of ring tune CB antenna. Works well for me since I don't care for the long firestick type antennas banging around against the Jeep. I only use CB when the guys I'm with don't have GMRS or HAM, but so far my range when using CB with this antenna setup has been pretty good.
