I finalized a deal today to finally get my wife out of the people hauler business (we have 9 kids), so she said good riddance to the trusty Ford Transit 15 passenger van. Monday or Tuesday she'll be picking up a 2021 JLUR!
We bought it very slightly used with only 4600 miles on it. The first owner bought it and then decided he didn't like it (mud tire noise) and traded in on a new BMW. His loss, wife's gain!
Anyway, it has the auto and Etorque 3.6. She loves my JLUR but decided she didn't want to drive a manual every day, even though she does like it from time to time. This will be Jeep #3 in the garage, joining our 2008 JKUR and my 2018 JLUR. The JK is also a manual, btw, so the auto will be a nice departure.
I'm thrilled for her. She loves going doors off, so with the Sunrider, she'll have some fun when warm weather returns. She's also excited to not get stuck in the snow this winter. Her transit van got stuck easily 2 or 3 times per winter, even on slight inclines. She hated that.
Can't wait to drive around with the Etorque to check it out! It felt pretty spunky off the line during my short test drive today.
First thing, though. It is going to get an oil change the second it hits the garage. It is still on its factory oil. I'll send a sample in for an analysis just for morbid curiosity. It should be pretty loaded up with crap, but still serviceable. I'll post that up when the results come back. I'll also post more pics after hitting it with some of this:
