I must be less intelligent than most. Went to do the aux battery delete at the main battery and got confused. I believe the right, in photo, lead is the one goiuto the aux battery that needs to be removed and secured but I’m not sure what to do with the device below the right ground cable. It has small wires coming out the back side. Do I also remove it or leave it? If I remove it does it need to be wrapped with electrical tape?
2021 JLUR diesel, if that makes any difference.
Thanks.

It's your IBS ( intelligent battery sensor). Attach everything to the post that goes through it. Then pull fuse 42.

I found there to be too little space on that post personally... So I removed my aux battery and taped everything up. Then used the stock setup at the main battery.

What the heck does that mean?
I'm trying to do the same thing and getting confused as well. I'm not sure which one to pull either. I don't read schematics and I'm not a mechanic, so please use words an idiot will understand. My ESS has not required me to push the button to turn it off since January. Prior to that I received messages that my aux switches are disabled while the battery charges.

That doesn't look like an EcoDiesel battery location in your pic. I can not confirm your current setup. Based on an EcoDiesel setup, there are 2 negative wires and a IBS that run from the negative post on the main battery. If you were to seperate all connections at the negative battery terminal it would go like this, battery post adapter - IBS - aux battery cable - main battery to chassis cable. If you want to be sure what's what, I would disconnect both negative wires and test for continuity with a multimeter. The one that has continuity with the chassis is the one you need to re attach to the main battery. The one that doesn't gets taped up with non conductive tape and secured to prevent rubbing, then you pull fuse 42. Look under the fuse cover for it's precise location on your Jeep. You will also need to ensure you bypass the ess system either manually or with an aftermarket adapter. I'm not sure how to say it any differently.

For the diesel I just put the aux battery leads on the main and called it good.
No fuse pulls I also have auto start stop permanently turned off.
