Google has announced that a recent upgrade to Android Auto (4.7) will now fully connect to Android Auto capable head units, eliminating the need for any wired connection to access all features. Does anyone know if UConnect (5, 7, and/or 8") will work with the update or if UConnect intends to update these units for compatibility? The UConnect site doesn't seem aware of the change. Thanks.

Geeze, this would be fantastic. It's incredibly bushleague to have to plug in for ANYTHING besides powering up.

I was just coming in here go ask what I was doing wrong and how do I fix it.

If UConnect hardware is capable, then the software would need to get updated by FCA. Good luck waiting for that, considering the glacial pace at which they issue UConnect updates.

Here's Google's official FAQ regarding Android Auto Wireless capable head units:
Which car displays support wireless projection with Android Auto?
Android Auto wireless is only available with select models of JVC, Kenwood, and Pioneer aftermarket stereos, at this time. (See compatible aftermarket stereos in the compatibility section of android.com/auto.) It's not available in any default car head units. Additionally, you must have a compatible phone. See compatible phones.
