Not that I noticed, but I only have a 15 minute commute to work...
I just happen to go on hour long trip today and using Google Maps and Spotify my battery went from 83% to 55%, FWIW....

Nothing prevents one from charging via USB...
Or charging wirelessly. I use AAWireless for the android auto integration and a wireless mag mount charger for holding and charging the phone for a complete wire free solution. Love it!

I agree, which renders the wifi dongle moot.
I used Android auto almost everyday for the past week, plugged in. It was great.

AAWireless has been great for short trips. If I'm on a road trip then I plug in.

I would use it frequently if OnX Offroad ever integrated with Android Auto. I haven't been able to figure out how to get the OnX stuff up on the larger screen, so I end up dicking around with my phone, while a perfectly good large screen goes to waste.

Can you link me to this wireless charger you speak of? Pictures? Does it work while inside of an OtterBox? Does it affect the ability to wirelessly charge at home? Thanks in advance!

Here's the one I use, it's magsafe compatible. I also got a magsafe ring attached to the back of my case and it works fine on any charger, my case isn't as thick as an otter though so you might need to research if the extra thickness can cause any issues.

Edit: and if you use the 67 systems you can use this to go from the 17mm of the mount to the 20mm of the 67 systems:

Came here to post the same. I think the BT instead of Wifi option make it extra attractive.
BT is for pairing only. Data is transferred via WIFI.

Anyone knows if you keep connected to cellular data while connected to AA with Wifi?

Most definitely. It sounds like it creates an ad hoc Wi-Fi network, as 99.9% of people do not have Wi-Fi in their cars... It will draw from your data plan for streaming & maps.

Great! I was afraid I will get a connected to WIFI w/o Internet and lose access to data.

Thanks checking it out now... Do you put the metal magnet ring on the outside of your case of inside your case on phone?
