As the title says. Very frequently, like all the time. AA will lock up on the head displaying the map unit requiring either the USB to be unplugged or AAWireless to be unplugged and replugged, Then the head unit is good for a while but eventually it is locked up again...rinse and repeat. The map still displays but nothing else works.

This is primarily a PITA because I use Gaia maps projected to the U-Connect screen and all this unplugging sucks.
Has anyone else had a similar problem using AA?

Vehicle is 2020 Jeep JL Unlimited Wrangler running stock U-Connect
Phone is Samsung S23 Ultra

Running AA v.11.7.645844

Any Ideas??

I have a 2023 where my Android Auto doesn’t work anymore on S23 or S24 phones but works fine on Apple car play. My car is under warranty so the dealer said “ need to wait for uconnect firmware update” from Jeep. What a joke Jeep is. I purchase a new expensive car and manufacturer says go play in traffic until I make time to fix it. That’s real pathetic.

Did you get a Uconnect update that broke it? Those updates are pretty damn rare. It seems much more likely that you got an update on your phone that broke it.

Unfortunately Android Auto isn't the most stable product. That's not Jeep's fault.

It works fine with my folld 4 using a usb-c to usb-c cable. I specifically use this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088NLK5P5

With regards to stability: I actually find it more reliable than using my iPhone 13 with carplay lol. That's just the phone's fault. iOS periodically decides I need to unlock the phone to allow my jeep to connect. Android doesn't care. XD

I have found that using a high quality usb-c to usb-c cable pretty much eliminated all issues I have with Android Auto
Sure, there are issues occasionally after updates...
Using an older S21 ultra

Make sure you're using the USB port under the radio. The one in the center console is known to not support the bandwidth required for carplay/AA. There's a TSB somewhere to replace the cable with an updated unit that'll fix the issue as well if you do want to use the center console one.

Using a wireless adapter also works. I believe some try conversion cables as well. This happens because the bandwidth is being compressed allowing that factory cable to maintain a bandwidth overhead without causing it to drop out

Thanks for the feedback. I tried (2) new in box samsung cables and a new in box high quality cable from Amazon, and the Wireless Adapter for AA. Still no luck so that's why I went to the dealer and they gave me the "you have to wait for JEEP update". Regardless of Android model they all run the same OS.

Interesting enough it works on Honda Ody, Ford F150, Wrangler 2024 but not my 2023.

THANKS for the feedback, I'm gonna try a "C" to "C" short cable. It's a $7 gamble from amazon.

TSB for the console cable? I hadn't heard about that one. Any details?

I've also only heard of iPhones having issues with that connector, not Android.

Here ya'll go. It took them half a decade to release an actual fix for this. Kinda crazy in my honest opinion

Damn. I had no idea that they acknowledged the issue nor that it impacted Androids.

Just to be clear, we're talking about replacing the cable in the center console/arm rest? NOT the one on the dash...correct?
My problem is I'm using the one on the dash...and it frigg'd up

100% an issue on your end, either cable, phone, or phone port.

The media port has always worked flawless in all scenarios I've experienced, just the center console one had issues
