Android Auto is crashing only on the USB in the center console. I have seen a few threads of others that have had this issue as well. Hoping to hear some actual resolutions or new people that are having the same the same issue. Runs for about a minute then crashes. It works perfectly fine in usb port 1 on the dash. I have already removed the app and reinstalled it, removed the fuses for the radio, factory reset my phone and started from scratch, tried my fiance's phone (same result), tried Samsung cable, Asus cable from a tablet, and about a dozen other after market cables. I think we have ruled out cable issues or phone issues as it works fine in port 1.

2018 JLU with the 7 inch screen. Galaxy note 9 fully updated, factory Samsung cable.

1st trip to a dealer they say it works as designed. I had the lady walk out to the jeep, plugged my phone in and 10 seconds later VIOLA it crashed. her response "well no one here has an android for us to test with." Excellent service.

2nd trip to another dealer. Replaced USB port. They had to order it and had me pick up the vehicle while it took 2 weeks to get. Dropped it back off and even left my phone for them to test. They didn't. I went to pick it up and I plug the phone in, crash.

3rd trip. They are ordering the wiring harness that goes from the radio to the USB port apparently. That's 8 days out. They said next they will replace the radio if that doesn't work. I have a feeling it wont.

Any one with any ideas before the 3rd fix doesn't work?

My Android Auto works for a long stint, then stops for awhile. Comes back with no apparent change. Some days works great, other days really pretty much useless. My opinion, after online research, I truly believe this is a Google issue, not a Jeep one. Per online complaints and blogs, seems Google is pretty much ignoring the issues. I think its great Jeep has supported it, now Google needs to get the bugs out of the software. Meanwhile, all those replacements would concern me as creating more possibilities of problems than correcting them. Sincerely hope the next trip fixes it for you. Please update if it all works out!

By the way, I am not a big FCA fan...so I would certainly call it their issue if I thought it was.

Any difference for you between port 1 on the dash and port 2 in the console? Mine works perfectly fine in port 1, which leads me to believe it's not a software issue. On another note I have a USB voltage tester (I'm an IT guy) and port 1 has 5.01 volts while port 2 has 4.7. Maybe its a voltage issue.

Mine is consistently inconsistent regardless of the port. Good luck to you.
