I really love this but it looks like for those, you'd have to pick the color when you order - i.e. these are NOT RGB LEDs, but rather single-color that is chosen at purchase.

Has anyone seen an RGB option? I'd like to have blue as the default, but be able to switch to white easily. Blue is more "fun" but there may be situations when I'd want a more clean white light available.

Anyone seen this?

You are correct these are not RGB. The only way you could use RGB LEDs is if you used the jeep wiring as power only and then used a remote control to change the colors. However, there is another issue because I the system is dimmable and the dimming feature would not work with RGB LEDs so the scroll wheel would need to always be turned all the way up and stay there, otherwise there will be flickering and other issues.

Thanks David. Project complete. Disconnected the stock white led footwell light plug and installed a pair of red leds on each side. One is connected to the door/dome wire and the other is connected to the dimmable flood. Pretty simple install, got the leds from superbrightleds.com (they have other color options). Put the ground wires together in one connection. Only trick is the led wires aren’t labeled +/- so use a 9v battery to see which wire is which. LEDs work one way only so polarity matters.

I think I'd prefer something like that. My challenge is I don't really want another switch to light them up. I *do* have the AUX switches in my JLU, which are currently unused, so I guess I could use that for now and then move them later if I needed the switch.

These light up once I fire up the Wrangler since it's off the cigarette lighter, I also didn't stick them on, I use the zip times they came with to secure them under the seats, the wires are hidden in the plastic moldings etc, install takes about 15 minutes.

I'm sure these can be rigged up to use something other than the cigarette lighter, but I prefer not to splice wires etc if I don't have to.

So you have that long bulky plug permanently plugged in to the center console cigar lighter?? I would opt for not putting any ambient lighting at all if I had to power it using the center console cigar lighter.

Thanks for posting this. I just did this mod myself. I used some red license plate led lights and those posi t taps. I mounted them under the dash and rear seats

I used these lights. Two sets, 8 total.

I did two per side front and back. One light connected to the ambient light. One connected to the courtesy light. Looks freaking awesome! I will post pics soon.
