I can’t find that officially anywhere but that is what I saw on the Ram forum

Unfortunately I think the dealerships don't no much about it. But your starter generator is the etorque and the 48 volt power pack is all a part of the etorque system.

I was one of the unfortunate ones. My etorque bearings went out in the first 2 months we had the ram. When the dealership fixed it they said it was the first one they had ever seen go bad, and had to replace.

Well the verdict is in. The battery and alternator are bad. 37,000 miles. I asked them and they’ve replaced a lot of these 2.0 e torque alternators. At first they wanted $1,900 plus tax for the part the battery and the labor. The alternator was $1,000 originally but now I have them down to $820. I can find it online for less but it’s 2-3 wweks out with the shipping seats so I guess I’m stuck with this $830 price and putting it on myself or with someone that will do it less. I have a guy quoting me $150 to install it that’s worth my time not to do it. I’ve never done it and would have to get help from a friend.
I’m just so pissed that this vehicle has less than 40,000 miles and already has a bad alternator.
What is your in-service date? Maybe double check the warranty coverage? I am surprised that it is not covered under warranty? You should have a generator if you have eTorque. I thought the eTorque components are considered part of the EPA components with a longer federal warranty?

I have no proof but I believe everyone in the service department must look into a Neuralyzer, like in the movie Men In Black, to have their memory erased at the end of every shift.

Every time I've asked while taking a vehicle in for a problem if it was a common occurrence the answer has always been, "Not that I'm aware of".

Of course not. Unless the issue has happened twice in the same day they have no recollection of it. FLASH!!

It appears the alternator is only about $380 plus a $40 core charge. https://parts.allmoparparts.com/v-2...ectric-gas/electrical--generators-alternators

That is a stack of money for an alternator, especially on a JL Wrangler. I figure that my alternator on the 3.6 would take 30 minutes to replace. Right on the top, easiest alternator of any vehicle I have ever owned.

Update! I went to the dealership and spoke to the service manager and it is covered under the 8/80,000 emission’s warranty. He said it’s the first one they’ve had. And was very apologetic and kind about it. Said he would get it back in the shop and replaced asap.

That sounds more like it. Good luck.

What's really going to be bad is when that doesn't fix anything.

Update:
I had an appointment completed by a dealer to resolve why I was getting the "Auxiliary Switches not available, battery charging" message. I had been getting this message at every start. I had been getting conflicting opinions (here, dealers and elsewhere) as to whether my 2.0 turbo 2020 JLU Sahara even had 2 batteries.

According to this dealer, if the Wrangler has the second/aux battery, the load and charging tests can take up to 6 hours, instead of 3 hours, using whatever device/method FCA has for that test. And....about 6 hours after I drop it off, the determination was that the main battery was bad and it was replaced under warranty. Apparently, it does have the 2nd battery which tested good. Anyway, I no longer get that warning message.
