I'm not sure where to post this. My serpentine belt broke today. I am trying to replace it, but I cannot get the alternator bolts to break loose. They broke for the main part, but they are not coming loose. I can feel the bolt twisting as I try to get them loose. They'll break (as if broken) if I force it, I'm almost positive.

I've tried heating them at least to the point I'm not melting close plastic. I've shot every spot with PJ Blaster. I'm currently just hitting it with that every few minutes overnight and hoping for the best. I've been tapping the bolts and aluminum with a hammer to try and get them to break but no success yet.

Any tips?

Well, they finally broke loose. Yay original PB Blaster! I was going to delete the thread, but couldn't figure out how to do so.

I might have other questions tomorrow, but the main thing is the alternator bolts did finally break loose.

Ever figure out what caused the belt to fail?
