What Aftermarket Infotainment System (Head. unit) are you rocking?

Brand Name
Model
Why did you choose it?
How long have you had it?
And did it meet your expectations?

I’m interested in replacing my Uconnect 7” but there’s so many options. I’m mostly interested in sound quality and OEM functionality compatibility.

I have heard negative things about every promising aftermarket upgraded infotainment unit so far. Disappointing but I'm playing close attention. Biggest issues I've heard about others is lag in the software and obviously bugs in the system

I replaced my 5in stock radio with an Insane audio soon after a got my jeep in 2020
There fist version was the JL 3001 and then upgraded to the JL 4001
My most wanted feature was an android stile radio capable of downloading all my apps directly to the radio and not have to rely on my phone to hook up and supply the info to my radio
I installed a permanent computer hot spot in my willys so I don't need to use my phone for the Wifi connection
I have the JL 4001 in my Willys and the factory 8.4 in my wife's Rubicon so I can compare the two
They both have there issues but I like the feature of the JL 4001 much better
I just found out a few weeks ago the Insane audio has gone out of business
I am now keep a look out for a replacement if the JL 4001 fails
I have been looking at the Navos Gen 5 12.10-Inch T-Style Radio put have not found much info on it
Has anyone installed the Navos Gen 5 12.10-Inch T-Style Radio and what do you think

Have anyone ever considered deleting the head unit all together, and filling up the hole so it doesn't look tacky.

I basically just use mine to pass through music on a USB, or Bluetooth podcasts, I don't find anything useful on the laggy screen, it's mostly gimmicky to me, and just fills the cabin with too much light in the night, the most important information is available on the cluster in any case.

I use my phone for navigation, so something like a hidden amp, with aux with USB support, maybe Bluetooth.

I am from the marine industry and we sure as hell don't navigate with our phones
We use large 12 / 14 /16 in. monitors with detailed charts and maps
That's what I have been trying to duplicate in my jeep
A large 10 or 12in screen is a great upgrade and the off road maps are getting better all the time
They will never match the marine charts put they are improving
Maybe some day we will be able to see our GPS position on any map but for now we rely on Wifi

A 16" screen in a Wrangler will limit visibility out of the windshield no? well you could always drop the windshield, to make space.
