Hi all
I have a UK JL Rubicon which comes with 255 75 17 MT tyres as stock and lower fender flares like the US Sahara.

I am looking at black wheels (to match the colour of the Jeep) with an offset that sits more flush than the current wheels - which seem to sit inboard the fender flares about an inch.
I was looking at method wheels but they seem unavailable in UK.

I quite like the AEV Borahs in satin black.

Couple of questions for those who run Borahs.
1) I assume the stock tyres would fit these?
Want to keep stock so I have full articulation without lift etc at this stage.

2) Does anyone have any pictures of Borahs running 255 75 17?

3) Do the Borahs throw a lot of debris up agains the hinges? I see the offset is around + 25. Wondering how that translates to damaging hinges with debris.
I would’ve though there is just enoughfender flare coverage with these.

4) I see when mounted on the rear tailgate the bump stops don’t reach the tyre. I presume a quick fix can amend this and the added weight of the borah won’t require any hinge strengthening whether I go off road or not when using stock tyres.

5) is the additional weight of the wheel noticeable? Ie on long journeys with hill climbs.

thanks all for your help.

The Borah is 8.5" wide. That's too wide for most 255/75R17 tires. Even if it fit, you will lose protection and won't be able to air down much without losing a bead. I would either find a narrower wheel or switch to a much wider tire.

You got me thinking now.
From the specs I have seen, I thought the bfgoodrich were rated/good for up to 8.5” rims. I could be wrong.
Will look into it. Thanks

Tire Rack website shows 6.5 - 8.5 rim width for those tires.

Some stop at 8", others at 8.5". But it is a very poor idea to drive offroad with the maximum width wheel for a tire. You have less protection for the wheels and you can't air down much because it is very easy to lose the bead.
