You just can’t beat safari imo. I have a Spiderweb Shade over the back seats to keep my kids covered if I bring the top all the way back. It’s really great quality but I don’t like how it goes over the sport bar. Sometimes wind gets under it and it flaps, so I might swap it out for an Alien Shade. Had one on my old JLUR and liked it.

CMM mirrors are expensive but worth it. Easy to install, can be put on the top or bottom of the grab handle, and they look great.
I agree on the safari mode, use it all the time! I'm just looking for more sun and air experience so going to try sunshade. I haven't heard of any issues with flapping but will keep that in mind. Maybe it's all that 392 power ;)
I believe spiderweb makes a 2-piece top as well, was thinking there might be more head clearance in the one piece due to it going over the B pillar.
I do like the CMM mirrors, just more than I want to spend on that mod.
Thanks for your input!

Have the 2 piece Alien Sunshade. Works great.

Rain cover / outside seating shade 2-fer:

Have cheapo Quadratec mirrors my neighbor gave me that use the top door hinge to attach. Not my favorite; CMM or Lange Coyote would be better.... but these were FREE.

Fishbone Offroad foot pegs. Like them. Got them for a good bit less on eBay or Quadratec/other site sale (didn't pay $70):

Wow, that rain cover is sweet! I've never seen that. Would be perfect for the beach or camping! Do you know if that works with the soft top?
Yeah, I know about cheap mirrors...Currently using moped mirrors from O'Reilly's Auto. Paid $14 for the pair..lol.
I did look at the fishbone foot pegs so nice to hear that you like them.
Thanks for the info!

Make sure you have nothing in your jeep that could fly out or could get stolen

Lock your glove compartment

Carry a hat, sun glasses, a jacket, and sun screen, you'll need it depending on where you live and how long you driv

A sun shade does help block the sun,ube doors do add a little protection

You'll lose a few mpg

SOFT TOP 2 DOOR:
Everything is climate dependent. Here's what works on the Gulf Coast.
I use Sunrider mode about 90% of the time unless it is actively raining.
This gives me 90% of the topless feeling - both front and back seats - but allows me to flip the top closed (60 seconds, clip, clip, done) if it looks like rain or if I am going to leave it parked longer than 30 minutes. For us, we purchased a convertible with a back seat that happens to be a jeep - to replace a Miata - so grandkids can ride in the back. See my build thread for pics, my story, and a list of stuff I've purchased. No major mods, just some handy things to make beach life easier.

Since I have safari mode for free - which is the same coverage as a mesh top - it seems silly to buy a mesh sunshade also. Of course I live in rain prone Galveston County where it's common to get 15 minutes of hard rain with minimal warning. And since my jeep is a daily driver and a road tripper I want to leave the carpet in for sound deadening. Which brings me back to sunrider mode which is AWESOME. The freedom tops were way too heavy - and where do you store them?

I run doorless on weekends when it is nice so I did buy the Jeep rain cover, found the 4 door on sale at Amazon and it fits the 2 door just fine.

This lets me run doors off and still cover if it looks like rain.

I got some low cost mirrors from Amazon that go in the hinge spot.
Was going to DIY fab up a set of garage wall, jeep door hangers, but found some low cost steel ones on amazon that work great.
I'm happy using the lower hinge for my foot. No need for foot pegs.

YMMV - It's all good.
Good advice. I imagine SC weather is similar.

You happy with Alien? Thinking those or spiderweb, definitely like the 2 piece. Care on sharing what mirrors and foot pegs you didn’t like?
BTW, Sweet Jeep!!!
I've had both of these shades. I used the Alien on my 2018, and when I got my 2022 I ordered the Spiderweb, because I loved the machined stainless hardware that it attaches to. Very nice design.

Unfortunately, the Spiderweb Shade flaps in the wind too much at even 50 MPH, and slaps loudly on the center rollbar.

If I were to do it over, I would definitely go Alien again.

Prob just have to have the top down or take the back window out to setup the shade. Don't see why it wouldn't work. It's on my list for sure.

Kikbax are the way to go

a)when you go off-road in woods, branches hit your mirrors. I would hit branches at 40-50mph with the kikbax. The thinner ones would literally wrap around them and pull the branches out. I didn’t realize how tough mirrors needed to be.
B)no vibrations, i tested up to my speed limiter of 97mph
C)no tools or screws for install. They slide right into place

I’ve seen all the options out there, and they are the GOAT.

Also, safari mode is the best mode ever. I can’t imagine spending money for something in between safari and open top.

Also, taking your doors off is really about how much of a pain in the ass it is. Because everybody in the forum would take their doors off if they could just have them magically on and off at any time. I found the ultimate method to minimizing the effort so you can just take them off and on whenever you want.

-leave all bolts off
-push the cammed door hinge thingy into the door so its not used
-use the kikbax mirrors
-get door hangers close as possible to whereever you park your jeep.

You literally just roll your windows down, unplug all the doors, lift them right off the hinges, and throw your mirrors on. The whole process takes me less than 3 minutes. Same with install.

For the winter I reinstall the door hinge cam thing.

Someone posted another set of mirrors I like that mount on the A-Pillar grab handle like the CMM mirrors but they have a different “spring loaded” feature.
Tell me more about these spring loaded A Pillar mirrors?

Hmmm.. that’s not good to hear about the spiderweb. Definitely don’t want that. Just when I thought I made up my mind..lol.

I went back and forth between getting Alien or spiderweb.. I went with Alien and I've had no issues.. no flapping or noise at all.. completely naked at highway speeds and they don't flap.. they are a taut fit for sure..

What about head room? I’m 6 ft tall so that is a concern.

I guess you would need to run the bungees under the windshield header?
Don't bother with the S clips. Just go on Amazon and order a bag of bungee balls (te he he) and use them,on the front windshield.
