Pretty sure that iy impractical, but a friend of mine has a Willys XR without power convenience and now wants power locks. Any easy and inexpensive way to do this?

Looks like a great kit, and they sell a 2-door version as well. I don't mind the crank windows at all, but keyless entry is the one thing I miss compared to some of my past vehicles, especially when the weather is garbage or you are carrying a lot of stuff.I ordered and purchased the same vehicle. I found a full kit at A1 Electric. I installed it and it took about a 3hrs total.

That's awesome! Definitely sounds like a project I can handle, just gotta get some extra cash together and order itThat's exactly what my wife and I discussed. Plus it was cheaper doing it that way than having it added at the factory. It is a great kit. I even added in the tailgate latch. The instructions are clear as crystal and if you have any mechanical knowledge, you can install the whole system yourself. The only thing that got me was when installing the tailgate motor, I got the wires backwards. But I was smart and tested the operation before adding the butt-connectors.
. It's rough when you have too many hobbies!Just a quick question - can you tie it into the light or horn circuit so there's a way to tell it's locked and unlocked?AIN'T THAT THE TRUTH....lol. Good luck and once you decide to do it, if you have any questions, reach out.
How are these holding up? I’m interested in getting these. Does it have any type of alarm if someone breaks in? Horn going off or something?Yes. There is a wire lead that comes off the control box. If I remember right, I believe it's a horn output.
