Has anyone seen a way to use the factory Alpine Amp located under the steering wheel behind the lower dash panel to get a good signal for an extra sub amp to add an additional subwoofer to the factory 9-speaker system? I have seen a company that uses the PAC APH-CH03 and you do not need to cut any of the factory wiring however, I am not sure how to wire it.
I might recommend downloading the PAC manual for that device. It'll give you a better understanding of the install procedure and settings/capabilities.

According to PAC, the only Alpine system that will work is the Cherokee. The AmpPro, though a little pricier will work and keep the original sound. I installed a Quart Stage 6 last summer and kept the factory sub running off the factory amp for awhile until I added the third amp and rewired the factory sub.

I have a 2020 Wrangler with out the factory sub woofer
I have a Insane audio JL 4001 radio installed with sub woofer out RCAs
I purchased a used Rubicon rear sub woofer set up
The factory Rubicon sub woofer has 4 wire plugs on the speaker
Any buddy know why there are 4 plugs and how I would hook up an amp to this sub woofer
Thanks

There's a sticky thread in the electronics section that has wiring schematics and may provide you with some excellent insight.

It is a 4 voice coil subwoofer. I posted a pic of how I wired it to show an amp a single line 2 ohm load. If you wire the adjacent terminals together, then take the remaining opposite terminals and combine them to a single line. It's sorta like wiring two DVC subs in parallel. I was pushing it with a Quart 400.1. Another option is that Quart now builds a sub that fits into that factory enclosure. It comes with the 400.1 amp.

Better yet. This is what it looked like. Wire the two adjacent terminals on opposite sides and then take the opposite terminals and wire them to two leads out. The right side of each of those plugs is positive.

Has anyone on this section gone with a Rockford DSR-1? @Hpc3 has one in his for his Quart Stage 6 and I am installing one Friday to replace the PAC AmpPro. Full DSP and time alignment with an iPad or iPhone.

Ok I finally got enough equipment to start installing stuff. I’ll already changed all but the roll bar speakers. I have a fix 86 going to a JL 6 channel amp. I’m not clear on where to splice into the factory wires. I have the alpine radio. I believe I have to splice into the wires under the sheeting wheel with the resister? Please circle the right harness. I also read people installing the fix 86 by the glove box. Did you use double sided tape? Not much room to make a bracket.

I pulled one of the leads off the sub and used it as speaker level input to a seperate sub amp. Its pushing a 10" sub. So I have both subs going at the same time.

I did, ran the DSR-1 to a couple audiocontrol amps. I’m pretty happy with it, had to have help getting it all wired/set up.

I'm planning to get started on my audio project next week and i'm concerned about phase.
Setup will be Pac AmpPro to rockford 5 channel amp. 4 main channels powering stock speakers (for now). I'm running speedwire to AmpPro dongle because I don't want to cut any wires.

Is it best to reverse polarity in the wiring or leave the speakers out of phase?

Sorry if this sounds stupid. Modern Infotainment systems confuse me

Can anyone tell me what plugs into this? It’s directly above the drivers side lower dash speaker. I can’t remember if I unhooked something or if this was already hanging there.
