So I have read through this entire thread and I am having an issue. I have a 2019 JLUR that I am upgrading the entire system except the head unit. I want to tap into the factory wiring for wires going to the dash and sound bar. Does anyone know what wires need to be tapped at the factory amp to accomplish this. I know it has to be after the factory amp to work correctly. I have a AmpPro AP4-CH41 installed. I was just hoping to go to one place to tap into all the factory wires. FWIW I replaced factory dash and sound bar speakers with Kicker 3.5 and 4" KS series speakers. Any help would be much appreciated

After briefly looking over 24 pages of this thread, I didn't see the answer right away: We're supposed to disconnect the battery when working on the electrical system and dash, and when removing seats, so as not to fry anything and set off the airbags. While working inside the vehicle today, I had the battery completely disconnected however still had power going to the instrument cluster, radio, interior lighting. What's up with that? I read somewhere on here about a 2nd battery. Once I unhook the main battery, can I go ahead and dig in without fear of getting my head taken off by an airbag?

I’m an idiot and I can’t find information. I feel like my parents when “the internet” became a thing.
7.0 head unit - what is the output wattage, base system?

as close to 0 watts as it probably gets, and that’s peak.

Had seen a few posts in other threads stating members thought the 7” non-Alpine sounded pretty good. I think it is horrible, especially when you hit 70% volume it just distorts like crazy.

Well, that's not what I had hoped to hear. I read about some upgrading speakers only with good results. I have the 7" non-Alpine and I want to upgrade, but I am stuck between speaker only mild upgrade and a full-fledged amp with higher quality speaker setup. If this virus ordeal wasn't a thing, I would go for the full upgrade. Furloughs, pay cuts, etc... make it tough to spend the money on high-end items.I might go with a cheaper upgrade and look to change it up in a year or two.

If anyone has done a speaker only upgrade, please let me know the quality/clarity of this setup.
Thanks!

I kept it simple. Did the Dodge Dart Kicker plug and plays, and a small Alpine amp. Actually made more of a difference than I thought it would.

Nice!
I am now at the mercy of C-19. Furloughs are being discussed along with pay cuts. I may be on hold until this is figured out.

@Sting_NC_USA WOW! If I would have known that the Dash and the Dash trim needed to come out, I may NOT have done this!!!! LOL. Man, what a project. This is where I am....I have yet to remove the radio and disconnect the battery. Will there be an issue when I reconnect the battery - like reprogramming the radio, setting, etc?

Holy Moly. That is a lot of work. I would have so many extra pieces once I put it back together.

I did. And afterwards I stuck a down firing sub in. For about $500 it really made a big difference. Good enough that I think all I will do going forward is put a different head unit in at some point. Even without it, it sounds pretty good even with the top down on interstate.
