Maybe if I had a budget of only $11... and someone put a gun to my head and demanded I have turn signals on my mirrors or else.
Alrighty then, I’ll put you down for a maybe…

Does anyone have a good step by step DIY on this? Which wire are we tapping in the fender? The green/white? And do I need to ground 1 wire?

I’m going to add puddle lights, for you all that have dove into the door wiring diagrams, does anybody know what wire triggers to door open signal? So I can tap into that.

I want to thank everyone who contributed to figuring this out, especially @Hoosierbilly for finding the light connector. I completed the install on my Gladiator. The sequential lights linked earlier in the thread from Amazon weren't available. I bought these on eBay and they are working geat so far. I prefer the black look to the OEM white. I didnt want to tap any OEM wiring so I used this auxiliary harness from American Adventure Labs. Pricey with shipping, but worth it for me. It took a few months for the caps to arrive. I bought from BAM, but any Mopar parts house can get them. There are full kits on eBay.

I take my doors off a lot so I wanted to use the OEM connectors on the body and door sides of the Jeep. Pinning the wires into the connectors is really easy to do, but you of course need the correct terminals. I reused door side wiring/terminals from old door harnesses left over from my proximity locks install. The body side were provided by fellow forum members. They can also be purchased ready to go (expensive) or you could buy the terminals and crimp. I ran both sides through driver's side firewall grommet and then soldered into the AAL connector mentioned above.

Fun project, looks cool, and improves safety with a side turn indicator. Happy to answer questions if you're planning to try it.

This is the AAL connector installed. I think its worth the money if you don't want to splice into any OEM wiring for this project, but the pair was $63 with shipping.

How difficult was it to remove the mirror cap?

It didnt turn out to be difficult, but I was nervous about it. I left them on the Jeep to do it. I used thin trim tools to start separating the two pieces from the bottom. And then used a slightly thicker one where one of the catches was. I pushed toward the front of the Jeep. Doing that they literally popped off - on both sides. Sounded like something must have broken, but nothing did. I didn't remove the mirror glass.

I've always thought having the turn signals visible to the sides via a side marker is of huge benefit safety-wise when making lane changes, etc. Really wanted to add the turn signals in like they come on the Euro-spec models and finally took a crack at it this weekend.

For starters, my US-spec JL had power/heated/blindspot monitor mirrors to begin with.

I ordered the Euro-spec version of the mirrors that had the same specs power/heat/blindspot + turn signal indicators. Thanks to @RocketScientist for the help with getting the part numbers. Anyone interested for these specific versions of the mirror they are:

Right 68281902AD
Left 68281903AD
(Last two letters may be updated to new rev like AE or AF)

These part numbers above include the following options:
-blind spot (XAN)
-black texture (LE4)
-heated (GTB)
-turn signal (LES)

The big question was would the wiring be present? All indicators I could find from speaking to others as well as my research on Tech Authority showed the turn signal wire would NOT be present. This turned out to be correct, it was NOT plug and play. The other features (heat/blindspot/power) worked plug and play since that was already on my JL from the factory, so just the turn signal wire needed to be run. The indicator is grounded already through the mirror so you don't need to run a ground.

I ran a wire from the front LED turn signals (the green/white striped wire was tapped on each side) for each respective mirror. Wires were run into the cab, into the cloth wire harness and into the doors up to the mirrors. I added disconnects at the mirrors and at the doors for door removal.

With the mirrors, the blue/black wire is the one that needed to be routed for the turn signal feed. I pulled the wire out of the mirror plug, added a connector to it, and plugged that into the turn signal wire I ran up to the mirrors.

Very happy with the results. Also the Euro-spec mirrors have different convex areas than US-spec, they both have convex areas on the outer parts. I found this gives a huge improvement in visibility on the driver's mirror especially.

Install took me about 4 hours for the first side just figuring things out, testing, finding the best way to do it, and then only about an hour for the second side. I removed most of the clips for the fender liners on the front to have access to the wiring there.

Another option: is to purchase and add the lights only + new covers on your existing mirrors. Apparently when you buy just the covers they come with a semi-glossy finish for some odd reason. I didn't want this so I ordered entirely new mirrors.

Not 100% on these P/Ns but I think these are correct for the lamps, you would also need the covers

Lamps: 68361957AA and 68361956AA
Covers: unknown (if anyone knows PM me and I'll add them here)

did you have to reprogram anything for this mod or is it a simple plug-n-play once you purchase the parts?

I didn't have to reprogram on mine. My Gladiator is non-LED. I have the Morimoto LED turn signals on the front, but am running them with a resistor, so my computer is still set to halogen. No warnings or anything on the dash.

I pulled the fender. Have an automatic so I went through the hole in the firewall above the break pedal. Used the boot listed in the items below.

The mirror caps are the Euro Mopar version. These match the finish of the standard black US caps.
Order online from the dealer below. (Best price I could find) They will ship them to you. Just make sure you follow-up with them on your shipment. It takes about four days for them to get them and another 4-5 days to ship them to you.
Pop the skull caps off while the mirrors are still mounted on your doors. You do not have to remove the actual mirror from the housing (Not necessary and you could end up breaking the glass mirror. Don't listen to other's that tell you to pop off the mirror glass) With the right tools, you can install these in 60-90 minutes less the running the wires through the firewall to connect them. Let me know if you have questions on how-to.

This is fantastic—thank you! One more question: where did you run the wire from the passenger side?

I ran the passenger side through the driver's side firewall. Behind the center stack and then back across the cowl. I just didn't want to risk piercing the main wiring grommet or remove the PDU to get to the nipple in that main grommet. Also some threads on going out behind the glovebox and under the windshield. That didnt look too workable to me either.
