I got my 2024 2dr Willys and love the vehicle (moving on from a 2015 Willys). I ordered the standard package (aside from the anvil color, no additional options). I did not realize that there would be a volleyball sized black box under the rearview mirror to house the the adaptive cruise camera. That is a feature I do not use and turned it off meditatively from the dash options. Would have ordered a Sport w/o adaptive CC and built it up to a Willys - had I known (also do not know how much I could actually package to really get that build with factory parts....).
This black box really impacts the periphery view and does block the open feel of the jeep I have come to know and love since my first CJ7. I would be 100% more happy with a simple mirror and map light (which is amazing that they do not supply in the JLs!)
I know it is a longshot - since it is probably tied to entire brain of the vehicle, but is there a way to safely remove this? Has anyone looked into options? I normaly am not very picky, but this is pretty annoying and I am surprized Jeep engineers thought it was a well executed solution.
