Depressing the accelerator will not prime anything. But this would keep the filter full of oil and the system would reach pressure quicker. Is there any benefit to pressing the clutch and accelerator while starting the engine to prime the oil galleys and engine itself? Then, perform a normal start? Would this prolong the life of the engine?
I just tested this. Depressing the clutch and accelerator at the same time while trying to turn over the Jeep doesn’t allow it to start. It just turns over. I assume this would help get oil pressure built up before doing the actual start?Depressing the accelerator will not prime anything. But this would keep the filter full of oil and the system would reach pressure quicker.
