And not to beat a dead horse but the difference is impressive! Especially since most people only understand peak HP And torque and don’t get how fast and powerful something can feel when you can make the same peak numbers but over a much broader RPM range. Couple that to an 8 speed and in my case 4:10’s and it’s huge.My JL 4 door with auto, 35" tires, and 3.45 gears would smoke my last 2014 JK 2 door auto, 33" tires, and 3.73 gears.
It sounds like your daughter accidental engaged Carplay or Android Auto by plugging in.Spent all morning playing around, checking welds, glass and seal fitment and just going over the truck as I am so anal my wife has threatened divorce on many occasions and I do believe FCA has been addressing issues as they go along! Every hardtop, door and windshield seal along with all welds are pretty much right on, it’s by no means Mercedes perfect ( not that there really on there game anymore either) but all in all very nice. My biggest complaint is I’m a technology idiot and can’t figure out the u connect features! Last night all my daughter did was plug her phone in to charge it from the back seat and all her screen apps appeared! It was a very interesting ride home to say the least as she is only 15 and all her texts were showing!
Lol, you guys ought to feel the contrast I feel every time I get out of my 2008 JKUR with the 3.8 and 33's and get into my JLUR with 35's. I still love the JK, and enjoy driving it, but I just laugh out loud and have a perma-grin when I get behind the wheel of that JL. Both are 6 speeds, btw. Like I said before, that old 6 speed feels like a dump truck tranny compared to the new one.
Wow, if you can't feel the difference, you may need to see a doctor. My JK runs and looks like new, and is meticulously maintained. The transmission is new (factory reman) and the engine compression meets new spec. It is actually quicker than most other 3.8 JK's I've driven, with it's 6 speed and 4.10 gearing. The JLUR absolutely trounces it.I’ve driven the JL and it was nice, but definitely just feels like a Jeep to me. I must not have drank the same giddy juice. Maybe your 2008 was just a bit past it’s prime?
that JK 6 speed... Not the smoothest lol. I highly preferred the Aisin in most TJs and YJs.Lol, you guys ought to feel the contrast I feel every time I get out of my 2008 JKUR with the 3.8 and 33's and get into my JLUR with 35's. You’re going from a 10 year old JK with an obsolete engine to a brand new one with a current engine. You were overdue for an upgrade, but from a newer 3.6L JKUR with 4.10’s the JL just feels like a newer JK. I’d still get one, but the drivetrain itself is fairly negligible.Wow, if you can't feel the difference, you may need to see a doctor. My JK runs and looks like new, and is meticulously maintained. Nope. Read ealier posts comparing it to my buddy's 3.6 2 door JK Rubi. I just brought that up as an extreme example. The JL pulls away from the JK, even when the JK has 2 fewer doors and a weight advantage. It pulls away off the line and keeps pulling away up to redline. We ran to about 70mph. JL wins every time. You’re going from a 10 year old JK with an obsolete engine to a brand new one with a current engine. I’m positive the JL holds the advantage, but as far as actually feeling it..I don’t. It’s still feels like a Jeep to me. The world’s fastest school bus is still just a school bus.Nope.
