I had to stop very quickly at highway speed in my 2022 JLUR. The wheel locked up and I began to slide sideways. I have to assume the ABS didn't kick in. Any experience with this?

Did the wheels continue to lock up, or did the ABS eventually kick in? It take a second or so for ABS to kick in after hard brake application.

I let off the brakes to stop the slide. I was beginning to go sideways.

Next time it rains find a recently resurfaced stretch of road or parking lot and do a test. Don't let off the brakes.

Thats odd. I've had to do a hard stop in my Sport and the ABS kicked in almost imeadately. Do you or did you have any dummy lights on at the time? Any driver assists turned off?

I second testing it in a safe environment. Like an empty paved parking lot or something.

I'm not surprised... I had an incident where the ABS failed to function on a a snowy road, sent me into a slide, and spun me off the road. I took it in to the dealer afterwards and I got the standard "No DTC, could not replicate problem". Which is funny, because on a snowy road, I can make the ABS not work on demand.

The ABS system on these Wranglers is junk, and the dealer service network is just a denial mouthpiece for Stellantis.

Every dealer is a denial mouthpiece. Payouts on warranty repairs are bunk. If companies could, you wouldn't have a warranty. If they cared about the customers we'd have free access to repair info for the vehicles we buy.

If you didn’t get on the brakes hard enough to feel ABS pulsing and then let off like you said, you didn’t engage ABS.

No it wasn’t which goes to my original point that abs didn’t come on. Just checking to see any of you have had similar experience.

Then exactly my point that you did not get on the pedal hard enough or long enough to activate ABS. I don’t believe you have any issue other than that.

Like I said before, I jammed the pedal hard. The Jeep was beginning to slide sideways.
