8 Speed Shifter 'Release' Button - anyone else driven insane by it?!

It works good - that isn't the problem. My problem is that the release button, on the front of the shifter, is BRIGHT RED. Nothing else in the vehicle is that colour - even the cluster 'trim' is orange, not red.

Has anyone done anything to change it? If so - was it difficult?

Wait until you see what color the speedometer and tach needles are... Lol

Edit: This was a failed joke since the non-Rubi's have orange needles.

Rubi's are red. Couldn't remember if the sport's are or not.

I don't know - it just seems like a really odd choice to make the shift release button a colour that doesn't match anything else. It's more of an annoyance than anything haha!

I've been seeing a therapist about the situation, she's got me on a mega dose of Valium and Xanax and its starting to be tolerable to me knowing that the shifter lever is a different color than the floor mats...... This will take time, but much progress so far
The only other option is electro shock or the lobotomy but she says if it comes to that she's gonna just buy the Jeep from me instead

It's just Jeep's way of reminding you that you don't have all the red Rubicon extras.
But you CAN shift into R, N & D just like the Rubicons can!

this is how mine looks:

A delivery day photo. I did the same.

Based on the position of the fuel gauge needle, the Low Fuel warning -- an orange gas pump icon -- should be illuminated directly under the gauge. Maybe something worth investigating.
