8 speed service?

2021 JL 2.0/8 speed.

Curious how many here have serviced their 8 speed? Did you do it yourself? Did you swap in a PPE pan?

when refilling, can I use trans fluid temp guage on jeep display for refilling? Or Jscan?

If you’re thinking about servicing it yourself, I’d suggest grabbing the PPE pan, it makes future changes easier and adds a bit more fluid capacity. When refilling, definitely use the trans temp gauge on the Jeep, just make sure it’s in the correct range before topping off. JScan works too if you want extra accuracy.

I didn’t do that. I’d think that might be for some of the procedures I came across online that specify running through the gears in drive with the wheels off the ground?

Just do it on a flat surface and after you add to the fill hole, then wait for temp range, then top off again I MAYBE added .25 qt after a short drive. Followed up days later with another check and at the same spot, same temp, I get the same fluid level of just trickling out. Did that before I released the video to make sure I didn’t give out bad information.
