I did the same on my Gladiator and I agree. It sounds like one of those Japanese imports. The fit was terrible too. They hang down well below the bumper and the installer had to do some welding to get them to fit. I had magnaflow on all my previous Jeep’s and was always happy with them.I installed a Magnaflow catback exhaust on my Gladiator Mojave and it sounds terrible. Tinney drone that sounds like an import at all speeds and it’s not exactly cheap.
AWE has verified that the Tread Edition Axelback exhaust is the only one compatible with the Wrangler 4xe. The midpipes or Trail Edition will not fit on the Wrangler 4xe.I actually like the way the AWE exhausts sound on the 2.0, especially vs stock. I just wondered if they would work with the 4xe or if the setup is different underneath due to the added electric motor, etc.
also, high heat black spray paint, makes it much less visible under the car for no moneySomebody would make a killing if they sold a 4xe exhaust that keeps the sound as quiet as stock (or even quieter) but that also tucked up higher and frees up space behind the bumper.
That's all I really want, to get rid of that big ugly muffler hanging down in the back. I don't want to make it louder, as other mentioned it's a dang 4-banger, it's not going to sound impressive no matter what you do, so I'd prefer it to just be as quiet as possible. But all the aftermarket companies seem to be obsessed with making them louder.
That a good idea, I may do that. But my other concern is that it's going to get damaged on a rock. But I suppose I can just use the factory exhaust for now and go muffler shopping if/when it ever gets broken and needs replacing.also, high heat black spray paint, makes it much less visible under the car for no money
yea i'd just spray it to hide it, and if it gets damaged, deal with it then, or grab a good skid plate if you're gonna rock crawl anywayThat a good idea, I may do that.
