Yeah, but more importantly....So as we all sit herepatientlywaiting for our glorious 4xe's to start shipping, I'm wondering if there needs to be any modifications to the suggested break-in procedure? I looked through the 4xe supplement and there is nothing mentioned that I saw. So then I reverted to the 2021 JLU owners manual; see below in red for excerpt.
Seems that will cover the ICE and rest of the mechanical powertrain but should we be doing anything specific for the high voltage system?
ENGINE BREAK-IN RECOMMENDATIONS — GASOLINE ENGINE (IF EQUIPPED)
A long break-in period is not required for the engine and drivetrain (transmission and axle) in your vehicle. Drive moderately during the first 300 miles (500 km). After the initial 60 miles (100 km), speeds up to 50 or 55 mph (80 or 90 km/h) are desirable.
While cruising, brief full-throttle acceleration within the limits of local traffic laws contributes to a good break-in. Wide-open throttle acceleration in low gear can be detrimental and should be avoided.
Well done! And 8k+ miles! I’d love to take a trip like this someday with my daughter.I Beat the crap out of it and no problems what so ever!! I have a Teraflex 3.5" lift with 35's. In Utah the speed limit on the highway is 80. Had the cruise set for 80mph for 8hrs in gas only mode. Did Hell Revenge (skipped hells gate) and Finns and Things in Moab in all electric mode. Got the first 4xe Badge of Honor. I get 18mpg 43mpge. I have 8,753mi in it so far.
Thats pretty much what Im doing. Picked up mine on 6/26, have only put 100 miles on it. Ive been using E-Save and Max Re-gen. Plan on doing that for the rest of the week before a short roadtrip this weekend. Once I get 250-300 miles on it, I'll switch over to Hybrid and Battery only. Ive also been using the manual mode to let the RPMs get a little higher for engine break-in purposes. So what are you guys doing when 85% of your driving is on battery only? I am at 340 miles and I have only used an 1/8 of a tank of gas. I feel good about the axles being set, but the ICE has hardly been used. Im thinking I almost need to put it in E-Save and just run a tank of gas through it. What are your guys' thoughts?
No, the ride quality exceeded my expectations. I'm very impress with the Teraflex lift. I have Falcon aDapt shock so I had them set to firm. No excessive Pitch or Roll. 4L on the 4xe is outstanding! I let go of the brake and no throttle and it climbed right up on its own. Very minimal tire lift in two spot on Hells Revenge. Front and Rear locker were on so that assists with traction and lift.Well done! And 8k+ miles! I’d love to take a trip like this someday with my daughter.
Question, what was your experience on the steep descents/ascents (30 deg or more)with the 3.5” lift? Did it have you wishing for a lower center of gravity or were you pretty confident?
Any tires lift off the ground coming down or going up?
I did Fins N Things and some of the optional descents were pretty hair raising and I wasn’t lifted that high!
