I don't guess this setup would fit in a normal garage with a 7-foot door will it ? 37 I know will and it's close by about 3 inchs I just need to be able to put mine in the garage too much vandalism going around everywhere nowadays

Wish I knew someone that tried 40s with a stock axles and see how it's holding up. Don't mind spending the money to read gear but don't want to spend a lot more on new axle

Do you have to change the axles if you're just going to go on road and not much off-roading just change the gears or will it break the axles I've heard it will break the axles. That looks so damn good. Did you put that bracket underneath there that supports it with the turn signal that ARTEC sells for like a 130 ?
I'm sure you don't have to change the axles and I'm not the design team who designed the new axles but my guess is that they aren't designed for 40s if you plan on using them offroad without being cautious with throttle. I see plenty of dana 44s come through with broken spider gears and other diff issues with 40s on. Me personally I like to be able to use as much throttle as I need offroad and not worry if a axle shaft is going to fail or my ring gear is going to loose some teeth. The one tons give me that security. Nothing is unbreakable but I tend to build what I know works for me.

We did wheel with plenty of stock rubi axle 40s out in moab but that was one trip and I dont think anyone has enough real world data to say for sure either way. It would be great if they hold up and will save a bunch of people money so I guess only time will tell what the weak points are.

I do have that artec bracket installed. I love it. Took care of the floppy flare issue and gave me the turn signals/marker light back.

Shad over at Crawler Conceptz showed up at EJS this year with 40s on his JL. He abused them all week long and never had any issues.

Doubt the stock axles will hold for very long, but it was fun to see him gettin' it.

I work too hard for my money and cannot afford to tear up a $50,000 Jeep like that I don't have that kind of money. Some people do but I don't. I have to make mine last for at least 5 years and trade it in without any damage and I can't afford to make payments and then pay for repairs like that. I just respect what I buy a little more I don't own a shop where I can have someone fix it for me or work at a shop where I can get them to fix it cheap

Any idea who else is running 40s on stock everything? I’d like to pick their brain a bit. I’m on 37s and looking to replace with new 37s or 40s on a daily/weekend warrior

On its way 2018 JLUR in granite crystal with most everything but smokers group and dual top.2003 Sahara ARB air lockers front and rear, G2 Dana 60 in the rear, Dana 30 with RCV shafts Upfront 4.88 gearing.
We did a few runs with lots of them out there on 40s and stock axles. They did surprisingly well. No one on any of our runs had axle issues but only time will tell how they do. Someone needs to test the limits and find all the weak spots so the aftermarket can start improving stuff.
That's the info I'm waiting for, I would go with 37's if the stock axles can go the distance.
