Not always. My buddy’s diesel on 37”s caused this carnage. Took welding a nut to the shaft and BEATING the ever-living snot out of it to get it out of the carrier.

Exactly what driving/wheeling habits caused this level of mayhem??

Just climbing a non-descript ledge at a local OHV area with a heavy Jeep and all the weight on the rear end. No bouncing or anything crazy.

Dana Spicer Chromoly.

And this is my Dana Spicer Chromoly after my locker grenaded. Didn’t know it was twisted until we pulled it out.

bummer, i guess i should start looking for more than a d44 afterall...

I've got the dana chromoly as well but on 40's and all this power I do worry because I wheel often.

40s with the front trussed and gussed. Regeared to 4.88. Once I bend a shaft, I’ll upgrade shafts.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. I'm on 38's now and i couldn't imagine going down the 40 road on my stock axle housings.. Also, 4.56 gears i did recently.. i should've done them the second I went to 37's but I listened to some of the "you don't need to re-gear" diesel genius folks on this forum. Big regret not doing it sooner.

I did a washer relocation, gas inner fenders, fender chop, pinch seam cut and now i can clear my 38's at flex.
