I'm looking for a 4 pin towing harness to install. So far I've only seen 7+4 pin harnesses but I don't want the added install complexity of the 7 pin. Are there any options out there? Is it possible to buy the OEM towing harness and install only the 4 pin?

No, MOPAR only sells an expensive tangle of wires. Etrailer has what you need and I've installed it ...

T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector
Item # 118782

Might also get a 4-pin bracket to hold it to the bumper.

Go Here, I've posted the links to this already.

Looks like exactly what I want. How did you pass the wire from the back tail light through the car and past the firewall?

I stayed inside, only took off the back cargo trim on driver's side and pushed it under the door trim (didn't remove). Once I got up to the front there is a grommet. This video explains it.

That is almost 75% the same amount of work as doing the OEM kit install.

Actually I thought the same, but the Mopar instructions are way more complicated. What made it easier was tucking the wire under the door trim. It went fairly quickly. There's no way to do this without a power line, someone mentioned they tapped into the rear axillary power. I tried it and couldn't get a test light and etrailer.com also said no to that option. Look at the video, it's really not that bad. He shows where the line enters the engine bay and how he got it over to the battery.
