Going to tow new JL Ruby behind motor home. Looking at replacement bumpers that have the connectors for the Blue Ox systems built in.
They come in both steel and aluminum. Any opinions on if one is better than the other for this application? There is a few hundred dollar difference in the two options. They are from Rock Hard 4*4

I have ordered a Rock Hard full-width in aluminum with Blue-Ox tow bar adapters. I chose to go with the more costly aluminum mostly due to its 100 lb. lower weight. The aluminum will also be easier working with for mounting my tow-light socket, access hole for my air connector for my Air Force One supplemental brake and the breakaway cable. I'll be mounting all of these too and through the face of the bumper for easy access.

I'm also mounting a 9.5K Smitty Bilt winch so added weight was of greater concern. It will be interesting to see if it impacts front height.

Sorry, I can't post any pictures but we're full-timers on the road and won't get our JLUS or have the bumper installed until we get back to our hometown in early August.

Good points. I was wondering if the aluminum would be as strong for the towing application.

Have not decided on the braking system yet.
