Not terrified but thinking "well crap this sux" as soon as the front end dropped to the headlights and I started loosing forward mom23rdentum, so I opened up the hemi and powered out.

I was wheeling with another 392 who was ready with a winch and I had bunch of recovery gear to hopefully make a successful extraction.

But it did suck that the Jeep was 4 months old at the time with 2800 on the clock.

It did clean up nicely though after a ton of elbow grease and bribing my 2 daughters to help lol

I did a video on my channel that takes a deep dive into what makes a 392 different from regular Wranglers. In it I cover the hood engineering in detail.

Here's the link if interested:

I’m just curious if you had to do a lift to fit the 37’s or if they fit fine without rubbing as is. I just bought a 2026 Moab, which is a 392. It came with 35’s from the factory along with supposedly a 1.5” lift. I do not know if that’s a 1.5” above a Sport or above a Rubicon. Just that it comes with a 1.5” lift. But my local tire shop told me I would need more lift to fit 37’s.

35’s so I can’t confirm, but others run 37’s. A lift wouldn’t be needed but there’s a possibility a fender chop might be. Stock lift, just fenders

Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
My Jeep is getting a hemi swap in July, I am currently looking for the 392 hood with the hydro induction hood set up. I do deep water crossings and currently run a snorkel.

Just know the Jeep is on a 4 in lift with 37s. The water is deep and fast moving. Probably 5 1/2 feet deep.

Hey DeeW, congrats on the new 392! Initially I did not do a lift for my 37's install. You'll not have any issues running 37's on your stock set up.

What I found through my 392 experience is this:
- Up travel is very limited (this is Jeep's solution to run 37's)
- Stock springs are pretty soft. Adding a winch, step sliders, etc. will sag the front springs pretty easily
- I was hitting the stock front bump stops too easily with the stock springs

On my YouTube channel you can see what I did to set up my 392 for the way I use it. I did my suspension upgrades in Stages and based on info form this forums 392 owners. Also, keep in mind as you look at my pics, my 20th A 392 came with an additional 1/2" of lift from the factory.

Anyones' guess as to what springs the new 392 Moabs are leaving the factory with. If you see a parts tag on the factory springs, note the part number and we can compare.

Enjoy the new ride, my 392 is my daily driver and it makes me smile every day.

Get everything needed and do it at the same time. There’s a lot of rearranging to do, the hood is the easy part.

This is great, thanks for posting. Just to be clear, this from your 392 Moab?

I'm out of town this week with work, I'll see if I can get spring part numbers from my 20th A when I get home.

Yes, front right spring. ‘26 MOAB 392. Built 2/14/2026, Delivered to dealer 3/7/2026 (ish).

Could not get a photo of the other 3. I would need to climb under for those.

Also, has a factory winch installed. There has been past debate the factory winch = different springs. Not sure if that has been confirmed or denied.

based on the number of videos on YT, 37 would fit with a 2 inch rear bumpstop. I am personally not inclined to do it without a lift, the other thing is all these new Jeeps comes with that crap hunk of metal on the pax side, I wonder if the tire would hit that offroad without a lift (or even with one, not sure)

edit to add the video (thats normal 392, ours , the 2026 MOAB ones are XR)

That’s pretty interesting. But I don’t see myself doing bumps on an $80k vehicle. I will eventually do a lift, but I just am not sure what lift to do. Most places I’ve read say whatever size lift I do I will have to subtract the 1.5” due to the lift that’s already on it. So if I buy a 3” lift I will only get 1.5” out of it. That makes it a pretty expensive 1.5”.
So then comes another question, if I’m putting on a 3” lift, but only gaining 1.5” in height, or even a 4” and only gaining 2.5”, how much other stuff do I need to do to make the lift work right with the jeep? Do I need new drive shafts? Do what else do I need to make the geometry work? Do I need anything at all because the 3” or 4” lift is be buying isn’t going to be a true 3” or 4” and most would say you don’t need to do anything extra for a 1.5” to 2” lift.
it’s just confusing.
