Any difference in the way that 392 MOAB would ride versus 392 Rubicon? I thought MOAB is more of a desert runner or is it exactly the same? Thanks.

There are pictures of a Moab taken in a Jeep dealership showroom posted over on the 392 forums. In my opinion it doesn't look any different from the 392 it replaced, other than being $20K less expensive and not saying Rubicon on the hood. There are some minor trim changes, like black fender flares instead of painted. I wouldn't consider that to be an actual difference though. Big deal, it doesn't have painted fender flares.

Same suspension, same axels, same drivetrain, same lockers and sway bar disconnects…. I think the new MOAB is a Rubi with a different badge.

mine rolled off the production line yesterday.

Thanks!

I love my 392 Sarge Green, first automatic vehicle I have ever loved, but if Jeep made a 392 model more oriented to desert running, washed out roads, vs rock-crawling...I would go for it, just because that is my off-road environment.

About $10K less than a 24 non FE and apparently similarly equipped except for the $2K painted fenders, so ~ $8K less. Still a good discount. … my son called me excited after seeing the video claiming $20K less. After I explained the actual numbers he still wants one and is waiting for the almighty CARB approval.

Good news he doesn’t have to wait. CARB approval is done.

Great, I saw where the Durango Hellcat was approved, but nothing on the Durango/Wrangler 392. … His Last Call Scat Pack’s trade in value is surprisingly nearly what he paid for it, but nervous that it will tank if the V8’s are announced for the new ones before the MOAB was available here.

Didn't many 392 come with lesser gearing and non-XR axles? The Moab is an absolute winner. I can't wait to pick up a used one in 2-3 years.

For the first model year, or maybe two, you had to option the XR package on the 392.

Base was 3.73s.

Pre XR’s have 373’s, “HD D-44 axles” “thick tube,?”, iron knuckles. XR available about August of 21. All non XR’s 373.

Mechanically, and electronically it is the same vehicle. Minor trim and appearance package to differenciate it. This way JEEP can say the "final, final...final" Rubicon models were just that. May not see the "Rubicon" on the hood again w/392 option. It's the same vehicle, though. Just shows how marked up some of the last edditions were of the 392 Rubicon if they can offer essentially the same thing for 20k less. I suppose it was cheaper than buying a loaded up Rubicon X and then paying 30-40k for a v-8 swap; but it is close! And you get a factory warranty. MOAB changes the math on that.

I lucked out and found a leftover 2024 Rubicon 392 in a small rural dealer indoor showroom about 6 months ago. They took it out every few weeks and drove it. Had only 120 miles on it. Got a great deal. I think I would be kicking myself if I had pulled the trigger that on that 2025 392 I had been looking at with a sticker of 105k!

It's all about profit and share prices with car companies. Any kind of loyatly to the customer or thinking about helping customers maintain resalve value by not "cheapening" the model/brand is not top of their minds...

Sacralegious as it is here, IFS is better suited for those kind of applications. nothing beats a solid axle in the front for crawling and articulation, but thats just a different vehicle for a different application. TRX & raptors may be what your looking for...
