I am considering the STT MAXX over the Pro's, knowing I will be making some trips through the mountains in winter. Not sure the STT PRO's would be safe and not kick out on me. The Maxx is more aggressive than the KO2, but less aggressive than a typical MT. I think it might be a good compromise. The stock 33 KO2's on the Rubi went everywhere in Moab. I also do some occasional trails here in AZ.
What I ended up going with. Great tire, ride nice, quiet, wearing even, and balanced well. Got them for the same reason, wanted something that would perform well in the snow and rain. So far they handled heavy rain better than my KO2s.

I live in the mountains of CO and so far I'm VERY impressed with the snow handling of my STT pros. If you're worried, you can always have more siping added as the STT's have big lugs with plenty of room for additional siping.

Thank you -- both of you. Much appreciated. Assume it's your DD @efitzger ? I like the look better of the Pros (and they'd be easier to sell if I don't end up liking them), but I'd imagine the Maxx will still do quite well in Moab. On my KO2's (stock), it went EVERYWHERE @ 12 psi. Overall, my vehicle is 95% pavement, so I think the Maxx are probably still a better fit.

The pros look sooo good though.

It's my DD, yes. Very happy with them.

I'll try to snap a pic of them this week for you.

Awesome, thank you! I'm wondering if the 13.50's will fit on my steel bumper group rear carrier as well. I think it'll probably be close. Height should be fine, relocating the brake light and camera.
