I went back out and adjust the tailgate some at the hinges. Drove with tire off and no noise. Added back the tire and the door wouldn’t close well. It dropped the tailgate at least 1/4”. It strikes the silver thing a lot, but still closes and makes no noise. Afraid to adjust it since it makes no noise.

That can help, but it's not 100%. There was a member on here who was 3D printing them and tightened it up considerably from what that one does.

It's a band-aid though...
I've got one on order, but I'm not sure I will ever know if it works, because I have zero rattles and squeaks to begin with ?.

I have the same setup as @backs1de. 37" (D Rated KO2 in my case), on a Non-reinforced tailgate, with a Teraflex tire mount.

Those rubber extensions that the Teraflex has, does for sure help out, providing a desirable, tight, snug fit, for the suspended tire ??.

So why did I order that $16 thingy from China?

Because I do not want to install the reinforcement hinge brackets, so I'm doing all else that I can get away with, to prevent me from having to be forced to do so.

So far, so good ??

Based on your testimony, I reckon you need the Chinese piece ASAP lol

You mean, there are end users on here, who have already tested that piece before?

If you can ping over a link, that would be great. I honestly thought that I was like the 2nd person ever to attempt to try one out ?

He's not printing them anymore, but I and at least 4 others have tried it (the aluminum one) with mixed results.

You can find it pretty easily on Amazon. I highly recommend replacing the cheesy screws supplied with it to some decent grade 10.9 or 12.9 flange bolts.

My OCD wouldn't let me sleep knowing the tailgate was that far off so I went back out. Took the tire off. Loosened the hinges. Raised the tailgate at the door handle side slightly more than needed. Tightened the hinges back up. Put tire back on. Tailgate shuts much better and still no noise. I'm sure this will be temporary, but it has made the noise since I bought it. I thought it was the box for the Sunrider top. So as far as I can tell this is the best it's been aligned since I bought it. I'm sure when I wake up tomorrow the sound will be back. I will update with more info soon.

FYI bought this off Amazon. Delivered in 2 days. Worked well. Did a lot of playing around with the striker, adding this limiter, added DIY PVC bump stops, and making sure everything looked OK on the gate as a whole and all is well.....right now....Really don't want a reinforcement kit, and don't want to spend any extra money on my Jeep's butt, so we'll see as we go. It's been like this for 5 years, so not going to play with it anymore. It's been doing it's job.
