I love having a forward facing camera, but man wouldn’t a 360 cam on the trails just be the cherry on top? All Jeep would have to do it relocate mirrors on the pillar/cowl instead of the doors (Which they should do anyways). Why wouldn’t there be a 360 camera on this off-road machine?! It’s mind boggling to me that they would sooner put in ventilated seats or a 40 inch screen before considering something more functional to it’s main purpose. Even for those pavement queens, they could use it for parking.

I agree and often wondered why Jeep would not design this.

all anti-camera folks will chime in shortly :d

I agree. This is one of the few "downgrades" from my 23 Taco. I had a 360 view on the Taco that automatically came on the screen below a certain speed.

I wheel alone mostly on back roads and known trails I am not a fan of long lines etc thst being said i dod the rubicon with a mark smith trip in a tj rubicon and had a blast very challenging

I have the forward facing camera option on my 24 rubi x Years ago i never had cameras in my 77 cj and my Toyota 82 pickup I went where i wanted i would just get out and look it over and pick my line And then just do it

i was at an overland expo in flagstaff years ago and test drove range rovers with 360 cameras i have to say it was pretty cool

bottom line though theres no substitute for eyes on and walking the trail
you get different perspectives would i get it as an option hell yeah but i would still getbput and walk my trail

I agree. Same with a backup camera, I will still always use my eyes and mirrors to park/watch out for pedestrians.

My thing is that the tech is out there. They already have it on other Jeep models, why not their top selling JL or JT? Make it part of the tech package.

I agree yes i would get them
I think a really cool after market product would be pudding off road lights in the mirrors on each side along with side mounted cameras to give you the 360° view. I bet it could be done with something like a wolf box dash cam hint, hint.

My serious answer is if an OEM camera system like this was offered I would have added it.

The current generation Chevy Colorado offers underbody cameras for $500. Pretty impressive if you're into having cameras everywhere. I think you have to have the tech package, which also includes the top-view 360.

That is a very cool feature. When I test drove a ZR2 with it, I was very impressed by the quality.

Rumor I heard at the Jeep display at EJS this year is that 360 cameras will show up on the JL platform next year. If you think about it, it's easy to do - the head unit in the dash is the same as the Wagoneer, Jeep has off the shelf mirrors with cutouts for turn signals, it's just a bit more wiring, couple more cameras and some part numbers. I'm actually surprised it hasn't shown up by now, but then again, Jeep Engineering had layoffs recently and the new Stellantis offshore engineering group hasn't spun up yet.
