My 38 13.5 20 toyos are Ds they feel pretty good in the low 20s psi on the road . 10 plys (E rated ) is doable but ride a little rougher , heavier .

The correct answer depends on what you like to do and how happy spending money on the Jeep makes you feel.

Personally, I’m happy with my 35s. I just like to get out, see pretty places, and camp in nice spots. I could probably fit 38s as is, but I’d likely have to upgrade a good amount of stuff all over the Jeep. There’s a lot of other stuff I’d rather spend money on.

This is coming from someone that, outside of winter, does trails every weekend in an area where people drive 22 hours to do the same.

I don’t think you will be happy with 37s w/o any lift. I have a 2dr JLR with 35in tires and a Clayton 1.5in lift. Actually netted 2in. Managed the Rubicon Trail. I think you will end up doing more to your Jeep if you go with 37s. I love my setup and don’t desire bigger. Here is the stance.

I agree.

I had 33s on my TJ and managed all kinds of challenges with it. The short wheelbase makes all the difference. I have 37s on my 4-door, but if I had a 2-door JL I’d be back on 35s. For me, it’s a good balance of capability and performance.

On a sport it is a good choice to stay at 35" if you don't want to get into spending some money to run 37"s. I ran every BOH trail between AOAA and Raush on my 35"s and had no issues. With the amount of videos I've seen of the Rubicon and Moab I would feel comfortable running them on 35"s with the understanding I am picking lines wisely and would definitely need to use the winch in areas. I am on a 2.5" AEV lift that gained me 4" plus I put on the high line fenders.

That’s some wicked flex man! I’m sure I’ll be happy with my 35 pizza cutters! They haven’t been delivered to discount yet. But they’ll be on by end of day today and I’ll post some pictures! I’m stoked!

35s are great yeah. Perfectly capable, no complaints, with 1.5" lift & nice 315 muds I had peak performance tbh.
Nevertheless. 😉
My 1.5" lift definitely gave me more than 1.5"... so I am doing some experimenting. After wringing every last ounce of rubber from my excellent STT Pros I stuffed 37 Baja Boss ATs under there last week. It's been fun playing around. Flex a bit, rub, carve out some inner liner, repeat...

I have the 2.5 springs ready to go, just wanted to goof around first. Why go so high if it only needs a lil bit tweaked here n there? So many options out there with fender clearance kits etc. Much to think about

No tires today. The entire road that my work and discount are on existence a 3hr black out. So they were quite backed up when I got there.

Finally. My 255/85/17 Mickey Thompson BB AT Pizza cutters are on! Got about 4 more inches of lift out of those over the stock 30.5s! At 45psi they don’t ride bad and there quite. Even quieter than my wife’s KO3s.
Drop psi to 28. 45 psi is nuts

I didn’t believe everyone on this forum when they said “ if you’re even thinking about 37s, do not go with 35s”. Well, I went with 35s and they were right and now, well i’m about to cough up money for 37s. However, on a sport with the sport fenders 35 look proper, Rubicon flares 37s are it

Looking good… drop your psi for ride comfort!

Will I bought a used RC spare tire relocation bracket. I’m hoping the guy realizes he gave me his tire carrier bolts and not the bolts that came with the relocation kit. So had to spring for those as well. I’m happy with it for $15 overall cost. Right about the 85lb weight limit of the tire carrier thanks to the factory steel wheels. The bracket is definitely stout. Everything is tight no bouncing or movements. I’ll probably get the RC tailgate brace so I can add the Rotopax EZ Tire mount kit with 2 gallon jugs of gas at 12.4lbs and water at 16.69lbs. I’ll probably need to just get a whole new tire carrier since even adding those will be over by almost 30lbs.
