Howdy friends! Requesting some advice from those more knowledgeable. There are 3 sizes available in the rim design I am looking at:
17×8, with -12 offset and 4" BS
17X9, with -12 offset and 4.5" BS
17X9, with +12 offset and 5.5" BS
Jeep is a 20' Sport S, 2 door. Tires will be 285/75 R17 (34s). So any of the rims would work with tire choice. The 8" wide rim is 5 lbs lighter than the 9" wide rims, so that makes it appealing. I guess my actual question is this: I would like to have minimal lift, preferably only 1" to 2", would one of these rim's offset / backspacing help me to do that better than the others from a clearance perspective? I don't mind a little poke, but less is cool, and none of these rims seem like the poke would be extreme. Admittedly, the offset and backspacing stuff confuses me. ?
Thanks in advance my brothers and sisters. ?
