20’s or 22’s which to choose and why?

I’m new to this Jeep world. I’m a srt Durango Girl but wanted to switch it up.
I want my Jeep to sit wide and a little chunky like me
Hubs says 22” wheels I’m thinking 20’s with a beefy tire?
ill be going on the beach. Not sure about rock climbing and stuff like that. Again newbie.
which would you suggest and
is there a reason why?

17s. Stay with 17s. You have a Rubicon.
Arguably the best off roader made. Why compromise it's capabilites with giant wheels and low profile tires.

Personally, I'd say go with 20's max. The 22s remind me a little too much of the Miami modded street cruisers with the thin tires. Nothing wrong with that if that's your jam, but if you're wanting to run on the beach...

I say 17's as well.

If you are going with 20'+ rims you have to buy some cheap tire to go along with it. Whatever off brand MT option you can find at your local tire shop.

Yea I have and I don’t even understand the 22” it’s weird I just want a solid argument with my husband

Ok. So I want to change the stock wheels. What’s a good set up you’d say for the rubicon. Any brand of wheels to look into? And I’d like a beefier tire look.

What are you going to do with it? If you are going off-road you will thank all those that say to stick with 17s. If you want a mall crawler then 20s max. Don’t get grose by going bigger on wheel diameter. For that matter I never understood why someone would want a jeep and not go off road.

One of the great things about Jeep. Pretty much any mod you want to make, someone has made it already and posted pics on the internet.

Lots of great options for aftermarket cool wheels with ‘stock’ diameter. Beefy tires… Nittos, BFG KM3s, etc. Do you care about tire longevity, cost, road noise?

For "beefy" look I'd look into a wheel with a rash ring. You dont need a true bead lock, but not fake non-removable rings either.

For tires, you can probably get away with a 315/70R17 tire without a lift and a wheel with less positive offset. The BFG KO2s are one of the better looking ATs in my opinion. You could go with a MT if you don't mind the noise and poor tread wear on the street. There are newer hybrids between a MT and AT.

I went with AEV Borah wheels and their rash rings a few years back and I am going to a 315/70R17 BFG KO2 tires this weekend now that my stock tires finally wore out.

I care about road noise I don’t want it. It will be mostly ridden in the street and sometimes beach and possibly a trail when I get used it driving it.
