I've been looking into purchasing a set of Rubicon takeoffs and it looks like the rear assembly you can purchase new for pretty cheap online, $1,300 or so.
Wondering if I can just purchase the rear assembly(68401895AA), throw some Dana Spicer chromoly axle shaft's into them for 400 and then bolt up my stock rotors and calipers and have a strong rear axle setup for around 2,000. I know this might not be advisable due to the extra weight, but I just want to get by until I can purchase a nice aftermarket brake assembly. I have the Dana 44 rear limited slip.

Seeing how common this swap is, I wish there was a sticky for all this information. I've tried researching before posting this but have seen conflicting results.

I believe it will work. Same axle as the sports M220 just wider. With that said you won’t be able to use 4 wheel drive until you get matching gears. Sports are 3.45 and Rubi is 4.10. That’s if you do rear only. If you do both your good to go.

I do plan on purchasing a front axle also, just would like to go new on
The rear considering an oem new assembly+ chromoly axle shafts is going for less than the used rears are. Hoping somebody will confirm who reused their sport rear brakes from a swap to rubicon axle ?
