Anyone have a constant whine coming from the belt area of their 3.6L etorque? I just got mine (200 miles on it now) and it has a constant whine to it. It is a different noise than when you turn the steering wheel and the steering pump makes the electric whine noise. It is not a very loud whine, but I can hear it through the passenger fender opening, under the car, and in the hood area. Thanks!

I am experiencing what appears to be a similar sound. I have always just assumed it’s the generator that replaces the alternator. I’ve had the sound from day 1. I now have 1500 miles on it and it still sounds the same.

I have not noticed this on my wife's Etorque. I'll give it a drive asap to see if something stands out. But I'd bet I would have noticed it. I'd have that checked. With the quick response from @JasonInDLH with a similar experience, I'd bet it is a common issue and there should be a quick fix for it. You could drive another at the dealership to compare, too.

I got under mine and was listening closer. It appears to be coming from the passenger side near the belts/pulleys. I wonder if it is a pulley or the belt. Again, only 200 miles on it so there should be no whine.

I just asked my wife and she said she's not noticed anything at all. She said it is just smooth and quiet, as it should be.

My 2022 JLUR XR makes a high pitch electric whine. It's not super loud, but I have noticed it. I can really only hear it as I am pulling into or out of the garage.

I figured it was something on the belt system, or electric steering pump. I haven't investigated as I assumed it was normal.

3.6 etorque btw...

Thanks. The high pitch electric sound is your steering (electric). Totally normal. Makes a noise when you turn the steering wheel and then goes away about 5 seconds later. The noise I am referring to is a different noise. But thank you for the comment!

I have a 2021 jeep rubicon extreme recon 3.6 e torque. At 19k Mile I started getting drivers side at cold start sound like a engine ticking noise. Went to dealer they said it was paper stuck to fan belt. Replace one belt still noise then replaced other belt noise still there. I told them they were wrong from the first belt that they change. Went to other dealer they opened up a case with jeep tech. The new belt had to be replace with in a week They then replaced AC pulley noise still there. They replace harmonic balancer. Noise still, now that the weather is warm noise still.
I hope someone can help me out.
