With winter arriving I thought I'd install a block heater cord on my 2021 for trips to CO mountains this ski season. I pulled the factory plug/cover off the inlet and had my cord routed the way I want it and could not seem to get the cord's plug 'seated' on the fixture? What a bitch to get into place and place into the receptacle...I was on my back and 'blind' to it but made it work. I just wasn't happy with how easily it could pull back off after I got it installed/seated as much as I could. Anybody else have this experience...there's no final snap when the plug fully seats???

May be a dumb question but are you sure you have a block heater installed? I ordered my 2021 and a block heater wasn't an option.

In contrast, my old RAM trucks with the Cummins came with block heaters installed from the factory and adding the Mopar block heater option only got you an overpriced cord.

No, I pulled the protective cap off the receptacle and it's there...it's unmistakable. I'm just not happy with how 'seated' it is once installed. Might bounce right off the pins in rough conditions...

For at least a while, all diesels were getting the block heater installed. Selecting it as an option got you the cord. Not selecting it got you no cord.

wish there was a fastener of some type to 'lock' it in place on the pins...thing just slides back off pretty easily with a slight tug

It’s probable that you’ll only get peace of mind if you take off the tire, remove the inner fender, and then watch and feel the insertion from a better vantage point. I.E. looking at it straight on.

I believe I had it inserted / seated all the way...it just seemed to pull back off too easy for my liking so I put the OEM plug/cover back in and am re-thinking. Yeah, I'm weird like that...
