Trying to upgrade from my '21 4xe that has two and a half months left to a '24.

Dealer is taking the payments left on that and wrapping them and the lease disposition fee into the new deal.

He is coming in at $850 on a 39 month lease; he claims the 39 month programs are better now. This is in New Jersey...it's a Sahara with a spelling price of $64,800. I don't know the MF. He put it at 10K miles despite my asking for 12K.

*Edit: This is a zero down deal...just first months and he is rolling in about $2K from my current vehicle. Claims I would need to pay the disposition fee because he would be using Stellantis vs the current vehicle being with Chrysler Capital. Further, I agree it's a terrible deal - just wanted a reality check.

Thoughts in this deal? Any insight would be appreciated. Especially if you are in the NJ area and have recently completed a lease.

Many thanks!

That is a terrible deal, don't do it. I am in New York and the dealers out here are so arrogant and cocky and will not budge on pricing despite their lots being overloaded with new Jeeps.

I am venturing out of state, many dealers can ship the Jeep to you (for a fee, but if it's not too far, it's worth it). Or, you can take a day trip to pick it up.

Go to this thread and checkout some of the dealers listed there. Keep in mind that incentives and rebates have declined a bit in recent weeks, but word has it that they may return in August (or at least get a bit better). I am still mulling things over and haven't decided what I want yet or who I will go with.

Also, checkout Chapman in Horsham PA, I hear they are doing deals at Invoice, which isn't amazing, but could be an option if you hit walls with dealers on that list. Not sure if that's just for returning customers, though.

$850 for a 4XE LEASE? That is insane. The jeep site itself offers $429 for 39 months with $3800 due at signing. No idea what you're rolling into the new deal, but I doubt it equals up to another $400. And even that is assuming MSRP, which you should NOT be paying. Talk to a different dealer.

A lot of those NE states get kind of crazy. (I'm from MD). NEVER buy a car from Virginia. Somehow they standardized $850-$2000 document fees down there.

Geez, I wouldn't even bother negotiating with them if they are that far off. Sounds like they aren't applying any discounts/incentives/rebates. I'd go elsewhere, don't even bother with them.

Not sure what area of NJ but I have gotten emails in the past few days from Turnersville Jeep running 0% APR for up to 84 months on 750+ credit score. I don't recommend a 84 month loan but maybe a better deal than a lease.

I leased a Sahara 4xe in NJ 3 months ago. Put down 10k and payments were $250 per month. I wasn't worried about down payment, I leased to get the credits and then bought the Jeep from Stellantis after 6 weeks. Total cost around 47K (including the down payment) plus tax for a 63K window sticker. They do beat you for a lease fee and lease end fee that totaled about $1200. I cannot understand why our illustrious government won't give the incentives directly to a buyer, instead you have to go through the leasing nonsense.

Wait, so your total out of pocket was $47K on a $63K vehicle? May I ask what dealership?

That was Lester Glenn in Toms River. Made the deal April 11th, I assume incentives haven't changed, but they only apply to 4xe, both Wranglers and Grand Cherokees. You can talk to Ed Fiorvante there.

By coincidence, I also traded a '21 Rubicon 4xe, applied 10K as capital cost reduction on the lease and took back 26K (36K total trade value) which I used to help pay off the lease and purchase in late May. Obviously, I could have just continued making the $250 monthly payments and the buy out would have reduced each month.

Manahawken Jeep had some good deals. I picked up mine at Precision Jeep in Butler, NJ. 5K down and $550 per month for 36 months. 10K annual milage. Its a Willys with the safety and convenience package (heated seats and wheel). Soft top. I think a 35K buyout which I plan to do.

I tried Manahawkin Jeep also, but they only had one soft top, a basic Sport without the options I wanted. I ended up with a Sahara with tech package, nav, both safety groups and some lesser stuff. Added a hitch and wiring afterwards. I did like the sales guy better there.
