MY 2024 rubicon x has 35s on it. Do I need to lift it to run 37s? It has the 456 gears would i also need a regear? to 488? Does anyone know what happened to that gear ratio chart vs tire size that was around a while back?

Not related to the lift but is there any real advantage to going to an aftermarket shock in terms of just stiffening the suspension up for when you have heavy loads? I don't really want to get heavier springs.

Yes, you need a lift to run 37's. To run 37's properly and maintain the on road and off road manners and capabilities of your X package suspension...prepare to spend lots of $$$$$, I know...

Technically 4.88 would be an ideal all around ratio for 37's but not worth re-gearing from 4.56.

Stiffer/adjustable/remote reservoir shocks are NOT for hauling heavier loads. Only heavier springs or air adjustable helper springs will do that.

That said, if you bought a 2-door Rubicon X w/35" tire package it's already like a 4-door Rubicon X on 37's out on the trail but much lighter! ?

Huh?

With 35s you won't have the clearance, approach, or departure angles of 37s. Better breakover angle in a 2-door, but that's offset by the "oh shit" factor when attempting extremely steep obstacles. A 2-door will obviously be more agile with pretty much whatever tires you throw on both of them.

Hahaha, yep. I just ran Wipeout Hill, and... I guarantee that's a better time in the 4-door. It got its name from people back-flipping 2-doors.

I haven't done that one yet. Did Gold Bar Rim again a little over a week ago though. That'd be "fun" in a 2-door.

I'm not saying that being more challenging is a bad thing. We'll most likely be buying a 2-door soon just for the additional fun and agility.

Springs carry weight, shocks control body movement. So you hit the speed bump the shock helps control the bouncing, you add more weight and don't want to squat, that's springs.

It really doesn't matter if 37s will fit because you will end up getting 37s at some point and you will build it where they will work perfectly.
