I wanted as few extra space for dust to get in as possible ... then I drive with the windows down and the roof open. :)
The dust ship done sailed for me. At this point the best I'm hoping for is to convince the wife to let me drop the coin on the Armorlite so I can at least wipe the inside down with a wet towel all easy peasy like. Was so dusty on Wed that you couldn't see @yokramer's Jeep 30 feet behind me going down the connecting roads between trails. He was sealed up though, would've been miserable if he wasn't. We need rain pretty bad to knock that mess down.

Unfortunately, NR says it only works with a Steersmarts TR, lol.

lol I saw that. I'll just make sure to steer smartly ;)

So, I'm not dead. Mama and baby doing well, but haven't been working on the Jeep due to trying to be decent at dad duty. However, baby's being less intense and wife's being awesome and letting me get some garage time, so I'm picking at the Jeep again. Got the Metalcloak "narrow width" rear bumper and Teraflex license plate relocation kit in.

Anyway, got the bumper stripped off today:

Interesting observation is that without the spare I picked up 1/2" additional clearance to the frame at the LCA bracket/skid on the driver's side and 3/8" clearance on the passenger side. Even the HD JKS springs are pretty soft in the early rate and really feel the weight of the spare and bumper.

Congrats on the kiddo. I remember when my son was brand new, there was no way I was getting any real garage time either.
Thanks! We got "lucky" in that kiddo is/was fairly colicky, but starting to settle now at 2 mo in. Our first, been a wild ride for sure.

Been slacking on updating this. Got the Teraflex plate relocation in, fairly easy install. Hardest part was slinging the spare around, and the frustration of cracking the plastic panel you gotta pull. Planning on ordering some Armorlite in the late spring, so I'll probably replace the panel when I put that in. Anway, for the routing of the lamp extension wire I just zip tied the provided wire to the tow harness along the rear frame crossmember and then did the following inside:

One thing to note is how tight everything is on the back of the relocation kit. This has to come off when you take the spare off, and for me I have to come through the spare to get at some of the connectors:

Overall though, pretty happy with how it looks. Good all-in-one solution.

Also got the Metalcloak bumper put on. Pretty happy with the clearance gained, and the lack of weight for a steel bumper. Gained ~5" of clearance at the corners and it protects the tub corners really well:

And next project is currently lined up, hoping to have this dialed in before spring wheeling starts. The Artec JL steering kit with 1.75" OD aluminum links comes with Steer Smarts rod ends, which I'm excited about, things are pretty chonky:

After this, probably gonna switch out to a higher clearance exhaust, the Armorlite is definitely happening since I'm tired of the carpet, and considering swapping out the MORE steel skids for their aluminum versions since the JKS springs seem pretty weight sensitive. Never run aluminum skids before, figure they won't hold up as well as steel skids, but wondering if I'll be in them a little less since the springs are dealing with half the weight. Worthwhile experiment to try something new I guess.

I like the bumper, especially their execution on the tow outlet and sensor locations.

Dumping/replacing the muffler soon? Looks like it's stayed safe so far other than the tip.

EDIT: beat me to it.

Yeah, she got to go. Magnaflow's high tuck option is what I'm eyeballing to stick in. Had the same in my JK and loved its clearance. Wasn't wild about the sound on the 3.6, but the 2.0 should just sound like turbo noises so expecting it'll be less shouty.

Looking at the Maggy Crawler or Overland?

The only part I hate about it is the running it through the vent. It is a non ideal solution. Other than that I am very happy with mine.

This is the steering kit I’m gonna get. Don’t see much about the Artec steering on here but it looks pretty BA.

I'm hoping it's as good as it looks lol. Looking forward to getting rid of the crappy stock rod ends.
