My grandmother began driving Jeepsters in the mid-1940s. She was such a cool and spunky lady! She had a black one that she loved. So, all of mine have been black since I'm not into the flashy colors - lol.
My grandmother was one-of-a-kind! Even well into her 70s she would tie a little scarf around her hair and would say to me "Let's go ride the wind!" We weren't allowed to go doorless as often as she would have liked towards the end because of her age. I miss her so much. So, I guess Jeep is in my DNA. I've never driven anything but a Jeep since I was 16. ✌
Two of dad’s friends, brothers, had Jeepsters. One they put wagon 4WD under it and a Chevy V8. This is off the net but I would bet money it’s it, exact spitting image in every way.

Yeah, but look at how much more Jeep you get now compared to then ;)
Yea- but except for Fathom Blue at $895, the regular colors are cheaper than the original $748.74 for OD Green,
but the Jeep was included. 😁

That’s not a bad deal in today’s dollars. I’d buy one if Jeep still sold the original. Heck I’d take two 😁

Some of the more vibrant colors will return here and there. They always do. But I don't think the standard palette is bad, at all. Red or blue are pretty spot-on if you want attention.

Still rubs me wrong that all colors are a $595 option. That couldn't be baked into the price of a $60k+ Rubicon, really?

Agreed.

I tend to prefer and defend a la carte option pricing, so that I don't have to pay for and/or subsidize optional fitments that I don't want. However, given the cost of entry for any Wrangler, Stellantis really should embed any and all paint choices into the base MSRP on the Monroney.

Note that Fathom Blue is $895.00.

To be fair you can still get a new Wrangler for <$30k, just not one on a lot and not one with any options. But a base Wrangler these days has plenty of creature comforts.

Yes, and No.

I'm aware that dealer discounts may get me in under $30K, but that's a roll of the dice depending on location, dealer and vehicle.

Officially, a 2025 JL Sport starts at $32,690.00 before the first option box is ticked. Were I in the market at this time, the prudent thing would be to use this fact for planning purposes. Any deals on lot stock would really have to hit the sweet spot...and I don't want a 4xe. ;)

Yea you would have to special order exactly what you want from one of the better dealers in Ratberts sig, but for all those "Jeeps have too much stuff in them these days" types it gets rid of a lot of that and gets them to the price they want. But instant gratification is a helluva drug

Fathom Blue was not available when I ordered a 2dr Willys the other day. Shows available online still.

Look at that beauty!!! How wonderful it is that there is such a rich Jeep history. I bet my grandmother and your Dad and crew would have had a blast together! Thank you so much for this pic!

The 4WD wasn’t easy, they were 2WD with a single transverse leaf front suspension. The owner passed before Dad, the last time I saw the owner’s son was at Dad’s funeral and I told him I would love to have it if he ever decided to part with it. But lost contact after that. The crew got together every Tuesday night at Dad’s commercial garage and did projects. This youngster was allowed to stay up and enjoyed the great crew while absorbing knowledge growing up that came in handy when I got my own and built it. A 63 MD in 77. Dad’s 3A is still in the family, I passed it down after having it ~20 years. 😊

I was a Jeep salesman in HS. Friends loved the 3A so much 2 of them got CJ 5’s. Our senior yearbook pic is of our group on and around Sid’s 5, his idea.
