I saw today on the Jeep website that the 2024 4XE has a payload of 1280 lbs, a big increase from the generic 850 of the earlier models. Can anyone with a 2024 model, or someone who goes by a dealership check the door sticker and confirm a payload increase?

That's base without any options I believe.

Base for an ICE rubicon. The 4XE were all stuck with an 850lb payload. This would be a 400lb upgrade (before options) to be even with the other engines.

This is an old thread so I am curious if people are still paying attention to it. Where did payload 850 come from? According to the jeep website the 2024 rubicon x 4xe has a payload of 1380 or something like that.

The website uses the max payload available instead of the actual payload based on installed options and equipment. The actual payload for each vehicle produced is on the sticker inside the drivers door frame.

One reason this matters; warranty claims can be denied if the vehicle is operated over GVW (or over payload).

So I have a 2024 4xe Willys (not the Rubicon with the full float rear axle). The door sticker still lists payload at 850 lb, but I took it to the weigh station and even after installing a steel bumper and winch the GVWR - weight is 950 lb, so I think that payload rating is conservative/maybe assumes all the heaviest factory options.

Interesting. I’ve not weighed mine but I do track the weight of accessories (unfortunately based on manufacturer numbers and not actually weighing stuff). I should load it up and see what the number is.

I'd definitely recommend weighing accessories. I got a skid system that was 60 lb over what was stated on the website.

Was it the Metalcloak belly skid? I just purchased that and it's 60 lbs over the listed 149 lbs on their store page

The very same. I contacted them about it and they said they'd update the website, but apparently haven't yet.

Bummer, it's the main reason I went with them to replace my RockHard 4x4 skids which are 217 lbs, (listed 260 on their site).. maybe that is shipping weight though.

Do you have any comments or gripes on the MC skids. Any coverage issues, or fitment issues? I'm looking at installing them this week.

Still don't have them on. I have limited time to work on my Jeep and my rock sliders interfere with the installation so I'm gonna need to do some drilling and grinding on the MetalCloak skids...or get some different rock sliders, but I like mine.

From what I've seen, all JLU stickers say 850 and JL's say 700. regardless of actual payload (apparently JLUDs may have 800). JTs are not generically labeled and vary like a normal truck.
