2023 Waiting/Venting Room

I'm down we can make a party of it lmao. Back after I got out of the military my step mom was going to give me her late 80's caviler. My plan was to make it into a convertible by cutting the top off and doing a bunch of f&f stuff to it. Once she heard my plan she decided it was best not to give me the car.

It sounds like my Willys XR left the Belvidere plant by rail to SLC on the 12th. I have no idea how long it takes to get to SLC or how long to get put on a truck and taken to Nampa, ID. @12psi says we're about a week out to make travel plans.

Jeep Tracker still shows only KZ.

Revised ETA is 5/21 ~ 6/1. I wish I could be more certain so I can can try to get cheaper tickets SEA/BOI. Three weeks is the magic window for pricing.

Still, I'm excited it's finally happening!

Very cool, I'm excited for you. That's my only fear about ordering out of state (which I also did) is arranging travel plans to line up the dates. Hopefully you get a more definitive arrival date from that range. I guess worst case, I'd assume the dealership could hold it for you and you can just place your 3-week advance tickets in now to be safe?

I'd like to, but since there is no real science involved and it'd be a SWAG for the actual arrival date. For pricing purposes I have to pick it up within 2 weeks of arrival. I can guess and may hit the right window but if I am off, or the delivery is delayed for whatever reason I will be SOL for the price of the tickets. I'll just have to figure it as part of the cost of ownership. ;-)

Still waiting to go get it, but the venting is calming down. I was never really notified it was shipped or arrived. I had to call Kent to get that information, but it's there! We'll be joining the XR club on June 2nd. Early birthday present for me. Wait time from ordering 5 1/2 months.

Tickets are very expensive less than 2 weeks out, but we're going to do it and figure it as part of the cost of ownership. We could have finished paperwork to buy then flew in, but decided we wanted to go ahead and get it when I can take a day off to fly down and drive back up to Seattle. It'll be long day...

Apparently my hydro blue high tide was put on a truck in Toledo on Friday. I'm in St. Louis MO and my sales guy says there is no way to track it from here on out. It could arrive tomorrow or it could still be sitting in Toledo on the truck TBD.

It's crazy that I can track a $3 package internationally in real time, but I can't track a $60k automobile from 2 states away. grrrrrr

My Chevy dealer did something nice for me while I was waiting on my Z06 to be delivered. He activated the OnStar and I was able to track it in the app as it crossed the country. Downside is you will see the shady places it visits, lol (mine stayed overnight at a hotel no tell in a REALLY bad area of Houston).

Jeep Tracker is now saying delivery is TBD. It's lost my Jeep that was delivered Sunday to the dealer.

HA! I think Jeep's figured it out on tracking my Willys. It's not sure when or how it got there, but it's there. We're flying down next Friday to get it.

Fwiw, my Jeep broke (okay, minor breakage) on Day One, and it was overall not the fun, exciting day for which I had hoped. But, Day Two ... Completely different story!
So, complain, vent, and hopefully you will all have beautiful Jeeps once all those grey clouds clear!
