Thank you for that information. It's not owned.. that's the issue.
Could be an issue for you then. I would ask the dealer what they have to send to the Department of Revenue. If they have to send copies of title work, then yeah, you're probably not getting those tax savings.

I will check that with them. If they have to send title, I don't think I am getting it either way. But I have dealers say that it's okay to trade in any car as long as the owner is present. Not sure if it is a loop hole in the system only some dealers are aware of and does and others don't.

I'm not a tax accountant, but I did take tax accounting (twice... so, just be warned I didn't do so hot the first time) but, ultimately, I think if the owner is present when you are trading the vehicle in, they are essentially "gifting" you the car at that time (and they have authorization to do so, so long as the lien on the car is taken care of at that time). In a state where tax liability is reduced through trades, then ultimately I think you could claim the tax savings.

That makes sense. I will check with dealer. I talked to him and he mentioned it may not be possible to trade someone else's car and get tax savings and I said a friend who worked at dealership did it and he took it personally.. So let's see how it goes on Saturday. I am picking up my jeep then. It's good to get some tax saving but it doesn't really matter either ways as I wasn't counting on it. Happy to get my first Jeep though! :)

I saw yours is built as well! congrats!!

So, that removes the doors off mirror kit theory from the table.

I'm beginning to come back around to dealer allocations...

Before I ordered my 392XR (from my buddy that is the GM of Glendale DCJ in California), I gave my local dealer that I bought my 2021 Rubicon from an opportunity. They wanted $5K over MSRP AND they aren't an AEV dealer which would have made the process of getting it to AEV more complicated, so I did not order with them... HOWEVER, during that conversation, the salesman told me that there were state-level allocations on the 392, and that all dealers in the state of Colorado were only allowed to order 5 per year. I don't know if he meant 5 per dealer per year, or 5 total across all dealers for the entire state per year.

When I heard this I thought it was either misinformation or absolutely insane on the off-chance it was true.

I just sent the question over to someone fairly high up in the Wrangler product line at Jeep to see if we can get an answer...
Heard back from my contact... He said he doesn't know how the details of the allocation process work, but he said the numbers my Colorado dealer quoted seem "really low" though.

There is person over on WranglerForum that has also been waiting forever (longer than you, even) and the two things you guys have in common (and that I did not have) are the Mopar Satin Black Grille, and the Mopar Doors Off Mirror Kit.

I have been told by my dealer and other Jeep insiders that until they have all the parts available for your build, it will not be scheduled. Whether this applies to accessories like the doors off mirror kit, I am not sure.

I know at one time they would build the Jeep even if they didn't have an accessory that was installed by the body vendor, and then it would sit at the body vendor until the part was available to install, but it is entirely possible that they have changed their process (maybe the body vendor is backed up?). It is plausible that if there is some unforeseen hangup somewhere down the line that they may have changed the process such that a build does not start until all parts are available. Just theorizing / speculating / strategerizing here...

I wonder if they are having trouble with getting the doors off mirror kit? Maybe there is a problem with getting the satin grilles?

Here's his order...

Someone wise @QwikKotaTx told me to remove my Mopar items and I didn't do that. It took 3 months for my seemingly simple build to get delivered. I am not sure if that's the real issue but I would do it next time for sure as I don't want anything to be a hold up!!

I just texted my dealer that Cryptostickers found my build sheet today. He told me that on his end, it shows that my order is scheduled to ship from the factory on the 9th (as in 2 days from now). Crazy, since the data coming from Jeep through the trackers shows estimated delivery as January 23rd!

LET'S GOOOOOOO TEAM 392!

I agree wholeheartedly. I forgot this piece of advice when I selected the floor mats and headliners, but I guess they have not held up my build much at all. If I had a do over, I would have left them off the order and bought them from the dealer.

Reading many hundreds of posts on this and other forums shows that it has nothing to do with options. My 392 build has only a few basic options (dual top group, integrated off-road camera and trailer tow package) with a standard color (sting grey) and I've been in C for 157 days. Many people that ordered their 392's after me (with more options like XR package, SOT roof, etc.) either have already taken delivery or are pretty far along the build process.

One of these days someone is going to figure out the logic behind Jeep's order processing. All I know is I would have never ordered if the dealer told me 6-9 months to delivery (which is what is going to end up happening)

I am the Kansas City area, 131 in C status, MT, both safety groups. 4 door rubicon in Earl.
Gives me a little comfort seeing we’re on similar boat… 116 days for me… MT JLUR Earl, satin grill, safety, LED, tow, cold weather, body color fenders/HT, trail cam. I gave up trying to figure out which option screwed my order over.

That is why I have kept beating the drum of "dealer allocations."

Hello all - went ahead and put in an order for a '23 JLUR XR. Had to wait for the color and packages I wanted to return to the order banks. I got my VON today, and I am looking forward to using the pizza tracker! Way back in 21 I had to bother jeep chat every day so this should be easier?

Why another one? When I ordered in 21 the XR package had not been announced, and I regret a couple of the packages I didn't get. Since my budget allows for it I elected to order new exactly what I wanted this time.

Question for you all as I can't read all 710 pages - is there more that one site to track build status?
